Mayor Christy presided.
Roll Councilmen present: Hager, Iuen Kliegel Nacy, Riner, Scrivner,
Call Strong, Wells and Wildhaber.
Councilmen absent: Borgmeyer, absent with leave.
A quorum was declared present.
The special meeting was called by Councilmen Wildhaber, Iuen,
Scrivner, Hager and Wells, to reconsider action taken at the
Council Meeting of February 15th for the emergency telephone system
for the Fire Department.
Councilman Wildhaber moved that the report of the Joint Meeting of
the Fire and Police Committees, as amended, be reconsidered. The
motion passed.
Councilman Wildhaber then moved to reconsider the vote on
substitute motion made by Councilman Riner. The motion passed.
Roy Burnett, Capital City Telephone Company, explained the
emergency telephone system. He gave the following reasons for the
change:
1. The Telephone Company is phasing out switchboard
answering, 118 will no longer exist after direct dialing
goes into effect.

2. erators are primarily trained for information service.
3. This will comply with the Telephone Company schedule.
Councilman Wildhaber moved that the report of the Joint Meeting of
the Fire and Police Committees be approved. The motion passed.
ournment Councilman Riner moved that the Council adjourn, under the rules .
The motion passed.
