The scheduled public hearing for the rezoning of the rock quarry on ,Klug Chestnut Street was not held since the request was withdrawn by the ;;Rock owners. ;;Quarry Mr. Gail E. Godsey, Executive Director of Mid Missouri Regional Planning Commission, apppeared before the Council to explain what Regional has been accomplished by the Commission. ?;Planning - - - - - - - - - - - - ilA communication was received from the Housing Authority requesting , concurrence from the City Council in filing condemnation to acquire :Housing , concurrence owned by GENESCO, operator of the Kress Stores , for the �'Authority purpose of public parking lots . Councilman Hiesberger moved that the Council authorize request of } the Housing Authority. The motion passed. i A request was received from Mr. and Mrs . Olen Smith to make Dawson Parking and Street one way going south or to allow parking only on the east Traffic side of the street . The request was referred to the Parking and Commission Traffic Commission. - - - - - - - - - - - - The following was presented to the Council: We the undersigned cab companies of Jefferson City, Wells Brotherst Yeilow Cab, Fred' s Taxi Company, request the repealing of Sectionll .f Police of Ordinance 7190, relating to taxi fares , and to amend Section 11 1� Dept. of Ordinance 7190 to read as follows: Sixty cents on first flag 11 Committee drop instead of the present fifty cents ; 10 cents on each one-fifthji mile instead of the present 10 cents each one-fourth mile; $6.00 ii per hour waiting time instead of the present $4.00 per hour; 25 cents each additional passenger instead of the present ten cents each passenger; and a minimum of $1,25 on all deliveries instead i of the present $1.00; fifty cents extra on all grocery hauls ; and ! a twenty-five extra on all extra stops . Since our last rate increase, cabs with air-conditioning have gone up $575 .00 per cab; without air-conditioning, $215.00 per cab. Maintenance work has gone from $6.00 per hour to $7. 50 per hour; tires gasoline and oil has increased by 40%; insurance has increased by $29,00 per cab per , year; and we buy an average of at least four new cabs per year at a �� total of $2,300.00 since our last increase. Davenport, and WHEREAS, we humbly bow to the will of Divine Providence, r,.. , while ever cherishing in our hearts the memory of his distinguished service to our Nation, and his outstanding example to his fellow American citizens through his belief in his Country' s heritage of freedom and his willingness to give his life in an effort to preserve that heritage. Now therefore, be it Er RESOLVED, that the City Council of Jefferson City, Missouri, at its meeting assembled on this second day of February, in the yea, of our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy, does mourn the passing of our distinguished young fellow citizen, Robert D. Davenport, and that we commend to all men his works, to God his spirit; and be it further RESOLVED, that as a token of our common sorrow, a copy of this resolution be presented to his family. /s/ John G.
