Mayor Christy read letter from the Women's Department, Reorganized
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, commending the Council{
for their action in passing-Ordinance-8207.
Mayor Christy also read Proclamation on United Nations Day,
October 24 ,, 1969.

Fire The following report of-the-Fir; Committee was presented by
Committee Councilman Wildhaber:
The Fire Committee had inspection of new Fire Station construction
on Ellis Blvd. and Peach Tree Lane. The Station is scheduled to
b completed December 15, 1969, at which time we hope to man same.
The Fire Committee held its meeting at No. 3 Station on Industrial
Drive. The Committee recommends the hiring of five firemen thirty
days prior to opening date of the No. 4 Station so that they may
undergo training. We also recommend that the Ordinance for the
Fire Department be amended to allow the promotion of two (2) more
Captains.
The Committee requests the City to place an option on a piece of
land which the Committee agrees would be a suitable sight for the
East End Fire Station.
The Committee recommends that the Fire Chief be allowed to obtain
3 bids on furnishings for No. 4 Station. Also allow Chief to
obtain bids on handibilly pump, all to be bought with the Bond
Issue money.
The Committee authorized Fire Chief to obtain estimate bids on the
painting of the exterior of Fire Stations No. 1 and No. 2 as
requested by Finance Committee.

Your Utilities Committee recommends the following street light
(installations, if they meet with the Master Plan: H
1. Install Mercury Vapor light at the dead end of 1900 block ;
' Ella Street.
�2. Install 6800 lumen mercury vapor light on the curve at 1823
Bald Hill Road.

Items discussed and recommendations are as follows:
1. Request of Al Debroeck, Elmer Goldammer and Joe neLong repre-
sented by John F. Burruss attorney, to rezone property located on
the north-east corner of Dix Road and Industrial Drive from "A-2"
single family to "E" Local Commercial.
Recommend the request be denied.
2. Request of Luebbert and Rothove represented by Spencer S .Thomas
for approval of preliminary plat -of their subdivision and rezoningg
of lots 32 to 47 and lots 58 and 59 of said subdivision from "A-1"•
single family zone to "B" two family dwelling.
Recommend that both requests be granted.
3. The commission recommends that in the interest of good planning
connecting road should be laid out to extend from aforementioned i
uebbert and Rothove Subdivision to Fredericks Lane in the Landwehr I
ills Subdivision.
It is further recommended that as this road would be of direct
benefit to the Jefferson City School nistrict and to the school to
e erected in this area that the City Planner meet with the School E
Bard and explain the advantages of this street change.
The Commission received a letter from F. Joe DeLong, Vice
Chairman of the Greater Jefferson 'City Committee which stated the
sews of the Committee concerning the preliminary Comprehensive Plan
It appeared that in general that the committee was in agreement with
the plan, however, some remarks were made concerning the trafficwaysi
portion of the plan.

property owners at Olive and High Street to work out the parking'
problem on Olive Street.
114. Parking be restricted on the south side of the 200 block of Eastl!
(� State Street and repeal the No Parking restriction on the north ii
side of the same block.

116. The possibility be explored of parking meters being installed in
