The Special Council Meeting was called to repeal Ordinance No. 7328. Bill No. 107. Councilmen voting Aye: Debo, Haake, Hawes, Hiesberger, Kliegel and Stone. Councilmen voting Nay: None. Councilmen Absent: Riner and Scrivner, absent with leave. Scholastic :Mayor Christy informed the Council that Scholastic Magazine Company had been Magazine promised fire protection before they had decided to locate in Jefferson City. Company. The City Attorney informed the Council that the Mayor had acted within his rights, since the existing Ordinance at that time permitted the Fire Department to go outside the city limits for a radius of two miles for businesses, religious establishments, etc. Councilman Hawes stated that he wanted it recorded that he would personally not be liable for city fire equipment being used outside of the city. Fire Councilman Hawes moved that no city fire equipment shall leave the city limits, P ction. with the exception of the cities which have a mutual agreement with Jefferson City. The motion passed.
