Mayor Christy presided.
Councilmen present: Debo, Haake, Hawes, Hiesberger, Kliegel, Riner, Roll Call.
Scrivner and Stone.
Councilmen absent: None.
A quorum was declared present.

The special council meeting was called to hear representatives of the
International Association of Fire Fighters Local 671 present their proposals
as set forth in Sections 105. 500 to 105. 530, Supplement Revised Statutes of
Missouri, 1967.

Councilman Riner moved that Local 671 be recognized as the bargaining agent
for the local firemen, The motion passed.

Captain George Coulter, President of Local No. 671 presented the following:
Vernon Cook, Vice President International Association of Fire Fighters.
Harvey Guittar, President Missouri State Council of Fire Fighters.
Joe McMahon, Secretary-Treasurer of Missouri State Council of Fire Fighters.
Jim Davis, Secretary-Treasurer, Missouri State Labor Council.
Fred G. Longwith, Legislative Director, Mo. State Council of Fire Fighters.
The Honorable Judge Sam C. Blair, Attorney for the Fire Fighters.
Firemen John Pfenenger and Dave Brandt, Lt. Fred Kelsey and Captain
Ralph Erhardt.

Captain Erhardt presented a six-point program to the Council.
1) Salary Increases.
2) Eliminate the five year step plan, after the first five years.
3) Longevity pay.
4) Liability Insurance, Blue Cross Insurance and Life Insurance.
5) Pay for seven holidays.
6) Shorter work week.
After much discussion, Councilman Hiesberger moved that the material as
presented be accepted and taken under consideration at a future date. The
motion passed.

Councilman Hawes moved that the Council adjourn, under the rules. The Adjournment.
