Approval of
Minutes. The minutes of the meeting of April 5, 1967, were approved as
received.
Woodland The annual request of payment of $800.00 to the Woodland Cemetery
Cemetery Association for the calendar year of 1967 was received.
Association. Councilman Haake moved that the request be granted.
The motion passed.
Parking & A communication was received from St. George Laundry requesting a
Traffic loading zone in front of their business located at 116 E. Dunklin.
Commission. The request was referred to the Parking & Traffic Commission.
Committee to Mayor Christy appointed Councilmen Debo, Chairman; Haake, Van Loo,
canvass vote.Willcoxon and Hiesberger to canvass the vote of the City Election
held on April 4th.

STREET COMMITTEE REPORT
The Street Committee met on April 18, 19670 at 7 :00 p.m.
°Present for this meeting were Chairman Willcoxon; Members Stone,
Kliegel, Riner, Hiesberger; Street Commissioner Pope; and, Director
of Public Works Rackers.
Items discussed were:
l) The question of storm pipe installation in the ditch at the
rear of the properties facing Willcoxon Drive and the ditch in
;;the Cottage Lane - Elm Street area east of Gordon Street.
The Committee recommended that the Department of Public Works
'contact the property owners and explain the policy of the City
'regarding Storm sewer installations.
2) Dix Road widening project.
The Committee voted to hold the topic for further discussion.
3) Request from the Baptist Church on Madison Street for a 40-foot
driveway entrance onto Jefferson Street.

The Director of Public Works recommended that the request be
iigranted subject to the correction of the existing drainage problem
{involving this property and that the driveway be curbed in some
;manner to divert the resulting drainage into the Jefferson Street
;`curb and gutter.

Board. his committee had met with the Taxicab Companies and recommend that
rates be increased as requested, and that the City Attorney prepare
necessary Ordinance.
Councilman Scrivner moved that the report be approved.

Public Councilman Debo, Chairman of the Public Utilities Committee, pre-

Your Utilities Committee recommends the following street light
installations to the Council:
1. Install new 6800 Lumen Mercury Vapor Light in front of
913 Fairmount .
2. Replace existing lights at 1000 Monroe at Fillmore at
Monroe and Tyler and at Franklin and Monroe with 6800
Lumen Mercury Vapor Lights.
3. Install new 6800 Lumen Mercury Vapor Light in the middle
of the block of Oakwood, between Fairmount and Moreau,
4. Replace existing lights (5) and install one new 6800
Lumen Mercury Vapor Light in the Nebraska and Indiana
Street area as proposed by the Missouri Power & Light Co.
5. Install new 6800 Lumen Mercury Vapor Light in the 600
block of Howard Street.
6. Replace existing light on Willow Drive with 6800 Lumen
Mercury Vapor Light. (First light east of Bel Air. )

Report. MEETING OF THE JEFFERSON CITY TRANSIT
AUTHORITY FRIDAY, MARCH 31, 1967, AT CITY HALL.

Council Meeting, . April 18, 1967
Present: Judge Burton, Chairman, Robert F. Hencey, William F.
Seeker and Walter Swearengin.
Absent: Roy Remick.
The July 1, 1967 - June 30, 1968 Budget request for operation of
the Transit Authority buses for that period was discussed at con-
siderable length.
It was moved, seconded and carried unanimously, that this budget
be accepted without any changes therein except that it is to be
shown thereon the value of the Transit Authority equipment on hand
at this time.
It was further moved and adopted that Mr. L. S. Long be designated
as Assistnat Manager, effective May 1, 1967, with authority to act
in the absence of Mr. H. C. Knight.

The following report of the Planning and Zoning Commission was pre- Planning

Gentlemen: Commission.
The Jefferson City Planning & Zoning Commission at official meeting
held April 13, 1967, recommend the following action taken at this
meeting to the City Council.
1. The letter of objection and request of Mr. & Mrs.
Benson Wood and other interested residents of Fairmount
Blvd. and Fairmount Court in regards to location of
trailers at McClung Park and the relocation thereof.
Since the Trailer Ordinance has not been complied with,
it is the feeling of the Commission that the location
of these trailers are not in accord with existing City
City Zoning Ordinances and recommend that necessary
action be taken by proper authorities.
2. The Petition to rezone land in the St. Marys Blvd.
Dix Road and Highway 50 West area by residents of this
area to "F" Highway Commercial.
The Commission recommends that the request be granted,
subject to the following exception, that this area be
rezoned to "E" Local, Commercial instead of "F" Highway
Commercial as the petitioners requested.
3. The request of Orville E. Stieferman to rezone
land known as Lot 1, Part 1 of Westwood Sub Division
located on Southwest Rvd. to "F" Highway Commercial.
The Commission recommends that the request be denied.

Lights.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council, City of Jefferson, Mo. ,
that the Missouri Power & Light Company make the following
installations in accordance with recommendations presented
to the City Council by its Committee on Public Utilities
and adopted by said City Council on April 18, 1967.
1. Install new 6800 Lumer Mercury Vapor Light in front of
913 Fairmount.

requesting a "Special Permit" to allow new car stock parking on Zoning

E ection - On motion of Councilman Riner, Councilman Debo was nominated for
President the office of President-pro-tem. Councilman Willcoxon moved that
Pro-Tem. nominations cease and Councilman Debo be elected by acclamation.
The motion passed.
Following the election, Councilman Debo was given the oath of office
by Judge Wilson.
Election of On motion of Councilman Hiesberger, Mrs. Margaret Christian was
City Clerk nominated for the office of City Clerk. Councilman Haake moved that
nominations cease and Mrs. Christian be elected by acclamation.
The motion passed.

Parking & Councilman Riner stated that he had complaints in regard to parking
Traffic in the 500 block of East High Street and suggested that one hour
Commission. parking be eliminated on the south side of the 500 block of East
High. The matter was referred to the Parking & Traffic Commission.
