A quorum was declared present. --------------- The minutes of the meeting of November 6th, were approved as received. Approval --------------- Minutes. A request was received for "No Parking" between 1026 E. Iligh and the Dutch Parking ar Maid Laundry. The matter was referred to the Parking and Traffic Comm. Traffic Comm. --------------- The following was received from Mayor Christy: Appointment - "I have the honor to transmit herewith, for your consent and approval, the Fire Chief. following appointment to office: Donald E. Hunter, 319 West Atchison Street, Jefferson City, Missouri, as Fire Chief, and shall hold office until his successor is duly appointed and qualified. Respectfully submitted, /s/ John G. The motion passed. -------------- The following report of the Street Committee was presented to the Council: Street Comm. "The Street Committee met at 7:30 p. m. , November 27th. Present were Report. Item discussed: 1) The Committee discussed and recommended approval of Mr. Earl Spencer as Laborer I at the Street Department for a six month probationary period. Regular Council Meeting, November 27, 1967 Public Utilities Councilman Debo, Chairman of the Public Utilities Committee, presented the Committee following report: Report. "Your Utilities Committee recommends the following street light installations to the Council: 1 . Install one 6800 lumen mercury vapor light in the alley between Clar{c Avenue and Walsh Street, 2. Install 6800 lumen mercury vapor light 120' west of LaSalette Seminary entrance. 3. Install 6800 lumen mercury vapor light at High and Locust Streets. Respectfully submitted, /s/ Robert L. Parking and The following report of the Parking and Traffic Commission was received: Traffic Comm. "The following constitutes the report of the regular meeting of the Parking and Report. Traffic Commission held at 8: 30 a. m. on November 14, 1967. The Commission makes the following recommendations to the Mayor and the members of the City Council: 1. The Commission recommends that the no parking restriction between the hours of 7:00 a. m. and 9:00 a. m. , and 4t00 p. in. and 6:00 p. m. , on both sides of Jefferson Street from Capitol Avenue to Commercial Street be changed to the hours of 7:30 a. m. to 8:30 a. in. and 4:30 p. ►n. to 5:30 p. m. The Commission further recommends that the no parMng restrictions between the hours of 7:00 a. in. and 9:00 a. m. , and 4:00 p. m. and 6:00 p, m, oil the south side of Capitol Avenue from a point 200 feet west of Jefferson Street to a point 230 feet east of Jefferson Street, be changed to the flours of 7:30 a. m. to 8:30 a. m. and 4:30 p. m. to 5:30 p. m. oil the south side of Capitol Avenue from a point 200 feet west of Jefferson Street to a point 160 feet east of Jefferson Street. The Conlrnisssion further recommends no panting; between the hours of 7;30 a. m. and 8:30 a. m. and 4:30 p. m, and 5:30 p. ill. on the north side of Capitol Avenue, starting; at Jefferson Street to a point 160 fret east. The Commission recommends that 30 mile per hour speed limit signs be installed oil Seven IIills Road on that portion of the roadway within the city's jurisdiction. 6. 'file Commission recommends that Monroe Street remain a one-way street south bound from Russell Street to Tanner Bridge }toad until such time as Monroe Street is widened to accommodate two-way traffic. 7. Tile Commission recommends that parking be prohibited on the east side of Moreau Drive from Hillcrest to Atchison Street and that parking be permitted on the west side of Moreau Drive from Flillcrest to Atchison Street. 8. "The Jefferson City Planning and Zoning Commission at official meeting; held eport. November 9, 1967 recommend the following action taken to the members of the City Council. 138 Regular Council Meeting, November 27, 1967 1, The request of Sheldon Gentry and D. E. Campbell to rezone land on Ellis Blvd, from A-1 to G Commercial for purpose of construction of a U. S. Post Office. The Commission recommends that the request be granted subject to the following provision, that if the U. S. Postmaster 0-feneral does not select this site for a new Post Office, then the land in question would rever t back to its present A-1 zoning. 2. The request of P. S. Thomas and C. J. Weaver to accept and approve a plat of Weavers Sub. Div. located at East Miller St. and Vetters Lane. The Commission recommends the conditionally approval subject to the following requirements. 1. That a temporary cul-de-sac be shown on plat at the North end of i; dedicated Christopher Place. 2. That the creek channel be changed on lots 7 through 10 and that no building permits be issued on lots 7 through 10 until channel changes have been made and approved by the Public Works Dept. and the Building Inspector. 3. The Commission made a final study of Area C proposed zoning and recommend that the entire area be rezoned A-1 when it officially becomes a part of the City of Jefferson as of January 1, 1968. The Commission also recommends that an area along both sides of Greenberry Road adjoining Area C, now zoned AA be changed to A-1 to conform to the proposed zoning of Area C. " "Acting upon the recommendation of Director of Public Works Ed Rackers and Building Commissioner Tom Benton, the Planning and Zoning Commission hereby recommends the following amendments to Ordinance 5880: Section 404, paragraph 4. Change the requirement of twenty thousand (20, 000) square feet to fifteen thousand (15, 000) square feet. Section 504, paragraph 4. Change the requirement of ten thousand (10, 000) square feet to eight thousand (8, 000) square feet. These revisions are being recommended as a result of the ideas; and problem: discussed with developers at the hearing on the proposed subdivision ordinance. BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council, City of Jefferson, Missouri, that tilt! Joseph WHEREAS, it has pleased Almight God, our Father, to summon to His Hemmel. immortal legions our beloved fellow citizen of Jefferson City and Cole County, Missouri, C. Joseph Hernmel, Captain, in the United States Air Force, and WHEREAS, we humbly bow to the will of Divine Providence, while ever cherishing in our hearts the memory of his distinguished service to our Nation, and his outstanding example to his fellow American citizens through his belief in his Country's heritage of freedom and his willingness to give his life in an effort to preserve that heritage. Now, therefore-., be it RESOLVED, that the City Council of Jefferson City, Missouri, at its meeting assembled on this twentieth day of November, in the year of our Lord, nineteen hundred and sixty-seven, does mourn the passing of our distinguished young fellow citizen, C.
