Judge Frank Iuen, acting for the City Attorney, stated that the City could not make a loan to a private firm, according to the State Statutes. Councilman Debo moved that according to the information received from the Acting City Attorney, that the bid of Surface Truck Leasing Company be rejected. The motion passed. ------------ Councilman Hiner moved that if the City purchases or leases buses, that they be air conditioned. The motion passed. Councilman Willcoxon moved that the City obtain six large buses. The motion passed. Councilman Haake moved that the Council recess for bidders to give a more accurate figure on bids. Tile Council reconvened. Mr. Gentges and Mr. li'oderhofer gavo niorc- .4pecific details on the spevificationt3 and typed of buties that they were offewing to the City. Councilman DCbo 111oved to accept tile Gentgoa bid. Councilman stono offered it tJubfjtihjtc motion, that they City buy six air conditioned buses ininledfatOly, which was tieconded by Councilman Hiner. The motion passed. Mayor Christy retired from the Chair and Mayor Pro Tom Willcoxon, presided for the balance of the meeting. Councilman Stone was Instructed to find some type of buses to serve the school children, until the delivery of the buses. Councilman Hiner moved that the Council go into executive session. The motion passed. Mr. Herb Knight was hired by the Council as Manager of the City operated bus lines at a salary of $500. 00 per month. The Council adjourned, under the rules. --------------
