Councilmen present: Debo, 11aake, Hawes, Hiesberger, Kliegel, Riner, Scrivner, Stone, Van Loo and Willcoxon. 10 Councilmen absent: None. 0 A quorum was declared present. ---------------- The purpose of the Special Meeting was to hear and take action on the report of the Committee-of-the-Whole relative to the letting of the Contract for Fire Station No. 3. ---------------- Committee-of Councilman Willcoxon, Chairman of the Committee-of-the-Whole presented the-Whole- the following report: Report. "The Committee-of-the-Whole met on November 15, 1966, at 7:00 P. M. , in the Council Chamber. Present were Councilmen Debo, Haake, Hawes, Hiesberger, Kliegel, Riner, Scrivner, Stone, Van Loo and Willcoxon. A discussion was held on ways of reducing the cost of the proposed Fire Station. Mr. Hawes moved that the plans be accepted as presented. Mr. Debo offered a substitute motion that items pertaining to floor tile, painting and lockers be eliminated. The motion failed to pass by the following vote: Councilmen voting Aye: Debo, Hawes, Hiesberger and Kliegel. Councilmen voting Nay: Haake, Riner, Scrivner, Stone, Van Loo and Willcoxon. Mr. Hawes motion was then voted on and passed by the following vote: Councilmen voting Aye: Debo, Hawes, Kliegel, Riner, Scrivner, Van Loo and Willcoxon. Councilmen voting Nay: Haake, Hiesberger and Stone. Mr. Scrivner moved that the contract on the Fire Station be awarded to the lowest bidder. Tile motion passed by the following vote: Councilmen voting Aye: Debo, I-laake, Hawes, Hiesberger, Kliegel, Riner, Scrivner, Van Loo and Willcoxon. Councilmen voting Nay: Stolle. Motion made by Mr. Scrivner to adjourn, the motion passed. Iles pe etfully submitted, Isl Montic Willcoxon, Chairman Committee-cif-the-Whole Councilman Willcoxon moved the adoption of tile report. motion passed. ------------------ Bill No. 83, Bill No. 133, introduced by Councilman Vail 1,00, entitled: Contract for "An Ordinance of the City of Jefferson, Missouri authorizing the Mayor and Construction the Clerk to execute a written contract for the City with William 13. Cure, d/b/a/ of Fire Station, Don Cure Construction Company for the construction of Fire Station Number 3 in the City. " Read first and second time by title and on motion of Councilman Van Loo, the rules were suspended and the Bill was read the third time by title and placed oil final passage and was passed by the following vote as Ordinance No. 7850. Councilmen voting Aye: Debo, Haake, Hawes, Hiesberger, Kliegel, Riner, Scrivner, Van Loo and Willcoxon. 9 Councilmen voting Nay: Stone. ------------------ Adjournment. Councilman Willcoxon moved that the Council adjourn, under the rules. The motion passed. ------------------
