E. Muehlberg, 950 Southwest Blvd. , spoke in regard to the drainage roblem, on problem on Southwest Blvd. , and asked what action could be expected of the outhwest Blvd. City to correct the problem. Mr. Hackers, Director of Public Works, explained that the correction of the problem hinged on the action of Fort Worth on a Federal Grant, as to what the City can do. If a Federal Grant is received, the City will extend the sanitary sewer and the developer is to spend the same amount on storm sewers. Work can probably be started in the early summer as it will be necessary to have a preliminary inquiry as to what the City will have to do to receive a grant. ----------- esolution Councilman Hawes introduced the following resolution: urora Street. RESOLUTION RESOLVED, that the bids submitted by Roy A. Scheperle d/b/a/ Roy A. Scheperle Construction Company and Jean Welch Brunner d/b/a Alvin Brunner Construction Company submitted to, and opened by, the City Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, at its meeting of October 4, 1965, for the construction of sanitary sewers in Sewer District # 110 in said city be rejected and that all plans for construction of sanitary sewer facilities in Sewer District #110 be abandoned for' the time being. FURTHE'll RESOLVED, that Ordinances 7694 and 7695 of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, establishing sanitary sewer district #110 in said city and providing for the construction of sanitary sewern therein be repealed. "Street Committee Meeting - 7:30 p. in. , April 4, 1966. apart. Present - Councilmen Willcoxon, Chairman; Kliegel; Stone; Hiner, and Skain; Street Commissioner Enloe and Mr. Hackers, Director of Public Works. 1) Committee considered the question of abandoning the sewer district contract for Sewer District No. 110 on Aurora Street. The Committee unanimously agreed that no action should be taken until Roy Scheperle has been contacted regarding the withdrawing of his bid. 2) Boonville Road Paving Resolution - The Committee recommended the passage of a paving resolution for Boonville Road from the end of the present pavement and extending to the City Limits and the cost of the improvement shall be borne by the abutting property owners, but not to exceed $3. 50 per front foot. That parking be removed on the east side of the 700 block of Michigan Street. 2. That a 20 M. P. I-I. speed none be established on Llizabeth, 13uena Vista and Elm Streets. 3. That one parking space be eliminated at 312 Washington. 4. That the Central Hotel loading zone and taxi stand ordinance be repealed, and that the taxi stand at the Governor Hotel be changed from Capitol Avenue to the 100 block of Madison, diagonally across from the Parking Garage, 5. That the Committee of the Whole consider the problem of adult crosswalk guards and meet with representatives of the PTA Council and the School Board. Respectfully submitted, Perry W. WHEREAS, the roadway of Boonville Road from the end of the existing curbing to the City Limits on Boonville Road, in the City of ,Jefferson, Missouri, is in need of improvement, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE, CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, THAT, Boonville Road, in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, from the end of the existing curbing to the City Limits on Boonville Road shall be graded, paved with asphaltic concrete and curbed and guttered where necessary with Portland Cement concrete. RESOLVED FURTHER, that the cost of grading and paving the above described portion of Boonville Road with asphaltic concrete and curbing and guttering same with Portland Cement concrete, where necessary, in an amount not to exceed $3. 50 per front foot, shall be charged against the abutting property in proportion to the number of fronting or abutting feet and shall he paid for by Special Tax MRS against the property fronting or abutting on t3aid improve- rnent, alld the balance of the cost, if telly, for smid improvement shall be paid by the City of Jefferson, Missouri, out of the general revenue funds of the City. Parking Garage Mr. Rose, City Attorney, explained that negotiation had been made between (Legal Action). the City and Attorneys - the City had been sued for $62, 000. 00 plus $18, 000. 00 (interest). Cure-Linhardt will accept $43, 000. 00 for their claim. Mr. Dominique and Mr. Rose, Attorneys representing the City, think the offer is reasonable and recommend to the Council that this offer be accepted with unanimous approval. Councilman Skain moved to accept recommendation of legal counsel and accept offer of plaintiff. A roll-call vote was asked on the motion. Johnson St. Councilman Haake reported the hazardous condition of a deep ditch in the �! Crest Drive area. Mr. Livingston owns the land, but the City has an easement' Ditch on down the middle. He requested that Mr. Livingston fill the ditch or for the ;! Crest Drive. City to take care of the matter if'it is a City problem. ---------- { E Councilman Haake referred the matter of parking at the intersection of West Parking - Main and West High to the Police Department and for them to make recommends-intersection tions to the Council to ease the situation. 4 of W. Main ---------- and W. High. Councilman Debo referred the request of installing a fire hydrant at 814 i= Southwest Blvd. to Fire Chief Sullivan. Fire Hydrant. ---------- Mr. Rose reported that Mr. Dominique who lives just out of the City Limits, Plumbing wishes to connect to the city sewers. He has a problem due to the fact that Code Ord. the sewer pipe will have to cross a creek which will leave the pipe exposed. The Plumbing Code requires that the pipe be two feet under the ground. He asked that the Plumbing Code Ordinance be amended. Councilman Hawes stated that if ordinance is amended, that each exception to the Ordinance be taken up before the Council.
