ORDINANCE NO. 63 -115
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY
AMENDING INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION
3922(c) OF THE TEMPLE CITY MUNICIPAL CODE
RELATING TO STREET BENCHES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 3922(c) of the Temple City Muni-
cipal Code is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2.. Section 3922(c) is hereby added to the
Temple City Municipal Code to read as follows:
"(c) The limit of liability upon any bond or policy of
insurance, posted pursuant to the requirements of this Ordi-
nance, shall in no case be less than $50,000.00 for bodily
injuries to or death of one person, $100,000.00 for any one
accident, nor less than $5,000.00 for property damage."
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this Ordinance, and shall cause the same to be
published once in the Temple City Times, a newspaper of general
circulation.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Temple City, on October 28, 1963, by the following roll call
vote:
AYES: Councilmen: Dickason; Fitzjohn, Merritt, Nunamaker
NOES: Councilmen: None
ABSENT: Councilmen Tyrell

at a regular meeting of the City Council held on October 28, 1963,
and was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council held on
November 11, 1963, by the following roll call vote:

ORDINANCE NO. 63 -114
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY
PROVIDING FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF CITY
BICYCLE RACKS BY RESOLUTION AND LIMITING
PARKING TO SAID RACKS WHERE ESTABLISHED.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Sections 3330, 3330.1, 3330.2, 3330,3 and
3330.4 are hereby added to the Temple City Municipal Code to
read as follows:
"3330. PARKING OF BICYCLES. All bicycles shall be parked
in the street area where automobiles are lawfully entitled to
park except upon such streets and in such areas as the City
Council shall determine otherwise by Resolution."
"3330.1. PARKING OF BICYCLES. The City Council may by
Resolution designate certain blocks or portions of blocks as
areas in which bicycles shall be parked only in certain bicycle
parking racks provided by the City either within the roadway
right of way or City sidewalk. Said blocks shall be posted with
signs by the City Manager reading 'No Bicycle Parking Except in
City Racks,' and the bicycle racks shall have a sign permanently
posted on or in the immediate area reading 'CITY BICYCLE RACK -
BICYCLES MUST BE PARKED IN THESE RACKS IN THIS BLOCK - NO OTHER
PARKING PERMITTED'."
"3330.2. PARKING OF BICYCLES. Any bicycle unlawfully
parked shall be removed by any police officer of the City of
Temple City and impounded. No bicycle shall be released until
the sum of $1.00 shall have been paid to the City Clerk. For
each additional offense there shall be charged one dollar over
the previous fine paid. In the event a bicycle is not claimed
and the fine paid within six weeks of impounding, the bicycle
shall be sold by the City for the highest bid after one adver-
tisement in the Temple City Times reading "A bicycle (or
bicycles) shall be sold by the City of Temple City to the high-
est bidder at the Temple City Sheriff's Station on
at ten o'clock A.M.' on
Day" Year
All money received shall become the property of the City of
Temple City and be deposited in the general funds."
"3330.3. No person shall ride a bicycle on any city side-
walk, pursuant to Section 1401 of Ordinance No. 6544 of the
County of Los. Angeles, adopted by Section 3301 of the Temple
City Municipal Code. The placing by walking, carrying or lift-
ing of a bicycle into a bicycle rack provided by the City shall
not be deemed operating a bicycle on a public sidewalk so long
as same is done within a reasonable distance of a City bicycle
rack."
"3330.4. DEFINITION OF BLOCK. "Block" as used in Sections
3330, 3330.1, 3330.2 and 3330.3 means property facing one side
of any street between the next intersecting streets or between
the terminus of a dedicated right of way of a street and an
intersecting street."
SECTION 2. The City Council expressly finds that it
is imperative for the immediate preservation of the public safety. -
and in particular of youngsters and other persons riding bicycles,

that bicycles be properly parked in certain areas of Temple City,
and based upon such immediate preservation of the public safety
this ordinance shall take effect immediately.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Temple City on October 28, 1963.
