Inlow, Minister Christian of the First Christian Church thanking the Council for making the Church. ` Municipal Parking Garage available for Church people attending worship on Sunday. '! ,r ---------- Request for ' Request were received for parking spaces in the 600 block of West Parking Main Street, five parking stalls on Capitol Avenue and four parking; Spaces. stalls on Jefferson for the duration of the construction of the Missouri State Highway Commission Building. Mr. Willcoxon moved that the request be granted. The meeting is to be held May 11, 1§6 ---------- 'I Resolution .; The following resolution presented by Mr. Hawes, was adopted: Russell Bond.; - is RESOLUTION WHEREAS, Russell Bond served the City of Jefferson, faithfully]! and well for a period of fifteen years, and !l WHEREAS, the exceptional progress and e£feciency of the City Street ! Department has been due in large part to Mr. Bond' s perserverance land attention to duty, and 4f iiWHEREAS, Mr. Bond passed away on the third day of May, 1964, now, f therefore, !' BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Jefferson, officially express its condolences to the family of Mr. Bond through the Mayor and City Council, and I' BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be forwarded` i; to the family in recognition of the esteem in which Mr. Bond was iiheld by his associates and the City Administration . l /s/ JOHN G. '---------- � Widening of " Mr. Hogg spoke in regard to the widening of West McCarty Street about W. McCarty. one-half block west of Vista Place and moved that the City Attorney'; be authorized to draw up the necessary papers and that the Street 4 Department do the necessary work. The motion passed. ---------- Parking & On motion of Mr. Hogg, the following items were referred to the Traffic Parking & Traffic Commission: Commission . 1. A traffic hazard at the corner of Hart and West McCarty Streets; 2. Traffic tie up at corner of Expressway and Mulberry Street. Would like no parking on one side of street from West McCarty tip Expressway on Mulberry. I The Motion passed. ---------- ;s Utilities Petitions were received for street lights at the following location#: Committee. Monroe and Dunford - Dead end of Clay Street - Corner of Moreau Drive and Hillcrest - Corner of Ronnie and Oakview Drive - Intersection of West Main and Bender Drive - Corner of Hart and Ridgewood - Corner f Miller and Hart . On motion of Mr. Haake, the petitions were referred to the Public , Utilities Committee. The motion passed. .......... f Traffic Mayor".Christy explained that Mr. Ray Lahmeyer, District Engineer, of Study District No. 5 of the Missouri State Highway Commission had met with Mo. State . the Council and had informed them that a traffic study would be .Highway Comm: necessary in regard to the overpass over the Rex M. Whitton Ex- pressway and the addition of a fourth traffic lane on present t 496 JJ 0 West . The City Engineer prepared the necessary letter ii Highway 5 Y 8 P P Y requesting the Missouri State Highway Commission to make comprehens.ive traffic study for needs of our City. Mr. Scrivner moved that the request be approved. The motion passed. Mr. Willcoxon, Chairman of the Street Committee, reported that the Parking & Street Committee and former City Engineer had met with officials lTraffic of the Missouri State Highway Commission in regard to no parking ; Commission. on west side of Jefferson Street between Miller and Dunklin after completion of bridge. Since the work has been finished, the High- way Commission requests that parking be eliminated from the south side of Expressway to Dunklin Street. On motion of Mr. Kliegel, theI matter was referred to the Parking and Traffic Commission. Area. Mr. Hawes moved that the existing Ordinance should be amended, "No-parking" between the hours of 3:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. The motion passed. Mr. Riner moved that the Ordinance be amended further, to permit parking at all times on Jefferson Street . i The motion passed. ---------- �! On motion of Mr. Willcoxon, the matter of widening and resurfacing � Street of Riverside Drive was referred to the Street Department. ;; Department .
