Louis, Mo. 719,077.30 `? !,;Mr. George Sallwasser from Horner and Shifrin reported that Sterling ;;Excavation and Erection Company made the low bid, pending complete ! ;;tabulation and approval of Federal Housing and Home Finance Agency. :' Mr. Debo and Mr. Hogg questioned matter of readvertising since the 'bid was over the estimate. Mr. Hawes moved to accept the bid of Ster 'ling Excavation and Erection Company, seconded by Mr. Debo. `The Motion passed. ---------- i ;s Minutes. , The minutes of May 4, 11 and 14th were approved as read. ------ 'i ,f Capitol View .Mayor Christy stated that the question before the Council is, "Should Urban ; the Capitol View Urban Renewal Plan, Mo-45, be approved or disapproved Renewal Mr. Scrivner said that in his opinion the ten members of the City t Plan. Council should not take the responsibility of the decision and that ,iit should be placed on the ballot for the vote of the people, perhaps � at the next City Election . He also said that a meeting consisting of the downtown ,business people, owners of property, members of the Council, City ,Attorney and Building Commissioner would be held to study updating of tithe City under private enterprise. {: ---------- ! i i Utilities `Petitions were received from residents, requesting street lights in Committee. ;the 100 and 200 blocks of Riverside Drive and the 100 block of Mc- ,Kinley. The matter was referred to the Utilities Committee. ----------- Airport A communication was received from Aircor, Inc. , Aircraft Distributorp, ission. requesting a franchise to solicit aircraft sales and services. To the Council of the City of Jefferson: I have the honor to transmit herewith, for your consent and approval, the following appointment to office: Mr. Fred Bassman, 542 Nelson Drive, Jefferson City, Missouri, Board of Trustees, to administer the Heinrichs Estate, 113 East High St . , . "An Ordinance providing for the levy of City Taxes and establishing Levy of City the rate of taxation for the City of Jefferson, Missouri, for the ;Taxes. year, 1964-1965 ." Read first and second time by title and on motion of Mr. Debo, the rules were suspended and the Bill was read the third time by title and placed on final passage and was passed by the following vote as. Ordinance No. 7520. ' appeared in regard to the rezoning, Bill No. 11 was introduced to ; Ramada Inn. } accomplish said rezoning. ---------- Bill No. 11, introduced by Councilmen Kliegel and Debo, entitled: Bill No. 11. "An Ordinance of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, changing, amending, I and modifying the Zoning Map of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, as 4 ingorporated into Ordinance No. 5880, by rezoning certain specifically described land from a District "A-1" single .family residence classifi- cation to a District "F" Highway Commercial Classification." Read first time by title and ordered distributed to members of the Council. City Attorney, Tom Rose, presented a communication from the ; Airport attorneys of Ozark Airlines, protesting flight property tax assess-;; Commission. ments against Ozark Air Lines, Inc. , for the years, 1960 and 1961. The 1960 payment of $188 .74 was paid without protest; but the 1961 ! payment of $339 .07 was accompained by a protest letter to the Cole County Collector. They request a refund of the 1961 tax since it was paid under protest . The matter was referred to the Airport Commission. ---------- The Council adjourned under the rules, on motion of Mr. Willcoxon. ; Adjournment. The motion passed. i!
