Watt, the City Attorneyll Ord. 6578. and City Engineer were directed to prepare a revision of .I Ordinance No. 5678 to strengthen the requirements for new subdivisions. Petition On motion of Mr. Burkhalter, seconded by ML . Willcoxon, the Truck Traffic following petition to restrict truck traffic on a portion of Hough Park Hough Park Road was referred to the Parking and Traffic Commission . ; Road. "1 . We, the undersigned property owners and parents of many small school children request of the City Council that a sign prohibiting '! through truck traffic be placed at the intersection of Greenberry Road and the entrance to Hough Park Road. 2. We also request of the City Council that a 20-mile speed zone sign be placed at the intersection of Isom Drive and Hough Park Road. Reason for #1 is : We the property owners were solicited to pay for the improving and rebuilding of Hough Park Road, this appeal was made to us because we needed a better road for the school children attending Moreau Heights School. We paid for this rebuilding and improvement , and now we learn that traffic has increased tremendously since the improvement of this street, heavy trucks are making this street a far more hazardous street for the children attending school . For this reason, and this reason only (protection of our children) we URGE that action be taken immediately upon the above request . Reason for #2 is: There is a 2U-mile zone sign on Greenberry Road but for the four block stretch, and the fast dropping grade, there is no "reminder" sign which apparently causes motorists to disregard the signs at the entrance to bough Park Road and Greenberry Road intersection. The combination of the two hazards listed is in direct disregard to , the intentions of making Hough Park Road a safe street for our a children ." 7280 The following ordinance was introduced: Bxpressview 7280/ "An Ordinance of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, changing Drive. the name of a portion of Schott Road, a public thoroughfare within said City, to the Name of Expressview Drive."
