'his meeting as a result of orders to report for a 14 day tour of + tctive duty with the U. S. Army Reserve in Washington, D.C. His j! etter said he expected to return to this city April 30 . i yor Whaley then informed the body that Mr. R. Jobe, would then i ontinue to serve as a member of the body until his elected j 6uccessor was qualified. i r. Riner then presented a petition sponsored by the Downtown ;Petitions usiness Men' s Association that called for downtown street light ; Downtown poles to be painted a blue-gray color at its own expense. The ;!Business Metition was approved upon motion by Mr. Willcoxon, seconded by ;;Men' s r. D. Jobe. Mr. Riner presented another petition sponsored by the Assn. dame group that asked permission to hang artificial flowers on Missouri Light & Power Company Utility poles. The request was granted upon motion by Mr. Willcoxon, seconded by Mr. D. Jobe, under the supervision of the City Engineer. Mr. Ritter presented another petition that requested permission to paint parking meter oles a blue-gray color at its own expense . This request was ranted upon motion by Mr. Willcoxon, seconded by Mr. D. Jobe, with it provision that the association finance the matter. A Fourth petition presented by Mr. Riner called for the color of an Oleetric signal standard at the intersection of High and Madison streets to be changed from the current Mustard Yellow. After - Mns iderable discussion the request was withdrawn after City rshal Short said the standards are painted the existing color to ioonform with national safety standards. Stone, 1213 Adams St , for the position of Deputy City Collector, in compliance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 7061 adopted by the City Council, March 20, 1961, for a term of two years . Dates. ment of bi-monthly meeting dates as follows for the remainder of the year 1961. May 8 and 22; June 5 and 19 ; July 10 and 24; August 7 and 21; September 11 and 25; October 9 and 23; November 6 and 20; and December 4 and 18 . President Upon motion by Mr. Scrivner, seconded by Mrs . Fisher, Mr. Willcoxon Pro Tem. was placed in nomination for the office of President I'ro Tem of the Council. Mr. Willcoxon was elected by acclimation after Mr. D. Jobe moved that nominations cease by Mr. Willcoxon be elected by acclimation . The motion was seconded by Mr. Dorr. .. Dust Upon motion by Mir.
