Present: Burkhalter, Butzer, Dorr, Fisher, Kliegel, Riner, Roll Call Scrivner, Vanderfeltz and Willcoxen. Absent: Jobe. A quorum was declared present . The following resolution was introduced on motion by Mr. Dorr, iCurtis seconded by Mrs. Fisher, and unanimously adopted and then presented Resolution. to W. A. Curtis: R E S O L U T I O N S WHEREAS, the Honorable W. A. Curtis has served the citizen of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, for a total of 46 continuous years, seven years as a member of the City Council followed by more than 39 years as Commissioner of Public Streets; and, WHEREAS, this long tenure of public service will be terminated November 30, 1961, by reason of retirement; and, WHEREAS, Mr. Curtis designed and placed into operation a , system of streets and avenues that served the severe test of time a d now pose as a monument to his profession; and, II WHEREAS, this long regime, marked by devotion, courtesy, loyalty, and conscientiousness, is attested by the fact that ten mayors utilized his talents over the course of almost forty years; and, i� { WHEREAS, it is altogether fitting and proper for the City , Council, acting for the citizens of the City of Jefferson, Missouri !; to render due recognition to one who has served so long so well. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of ? the City of Jefferson, Missouri, in special session this twenty- Iseventh day of November, 1961, pay special tribute and do honor to the Honorable W. A. Curtis . { BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of these resolutions be spread upon the official minutes of the City Council of the City of Jefferson, and that a copy be presented to Mr. Curtis .
