Owens A letter of thanks was read from the Claude P. Owens family as a Floral result of a floral piece that was sent by the City for the funeral Piece of former Mayor Jesse N. Owens . Light A letter from the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Roy Sone Post No. 1003, Request from was read requesting erection of a street light in the alley at the VFW rear of its property in the 200 block of East Capitol Avenue, explaining that no lighting exists except with a fixture located at the rear of their building which was installed and paid for by the organization. A motion offered by Mr. Willcoxon, seconded by Mr. Condit, adopted Reimburse- by the council, authorized the City Clerk to reimburse George W. ment of tax Lord and T. F. Willis for three-eighths of a tax bill submitted to money to them by the Councy Collector of Revenue and the City Collector for Lord-Willis taxes of certain prescribed property situated at the corner of �Dunklin Street and Highway 50 West for right-of-way purposes. Amount of the warrant, according to the motion would be $30.41, in accordance with a letter from Mr. Lord and Mr. Willis, which stated further that county taxes totaled $53.04, while city taxes amounted to a total of $28.05. Their share, according to the communication amounted to $50.68, while the city' s share would be $30.41. Following orientation by Mr. Rose, relative to the case of Randall Conference vs. City of Jefferson, a $25,000 law suit against the City filed by between the plaintiff following an accident in Riverside Park, the Council Council Comm. authorized a conference between the Council' s finance committee And Park Bd. and the Park Board to work out negotiations. The meeting; was set in re Randall for 7: 30 p.m. , Dec. 23rd at the office of the Park Board with the vs City. City Attorney to meet with the two groups. Any cottunittee member unable to attend was authorized to prevail upon another member to be present . The motion was offered by Mr. Scrivner and seconded by Mr. Dorr. Drainage problem south of Dunklin Street, Adams to Monroe Streets, we recommend city engineer let this work to low bidder, $375. Atchison Court improvement - This is a private street or alley, owned by individual property owners and completely out of our control. Flow of drainage water along St. Mary' s boulevard, we recommend that 'Mr. Curtis clean out butters. Railroad crossing on Industrial Avenue, we recommend Mr. Curtis 'repair alley, Adams to Jackson between Union and Case Streets.
