Mr. Balkenhol spoke for a group of peopel who were present 4posing the proposed re-zoning of an area located between Highway 0 West and Swift' s Highway. On motion of Mr. D. Jobe, the bills which were approved by ; the Accounts and Claims Committee were-ordered paid. j A plat of the proposed Westwood Subdivision was presented o the Council and on motion of Mr. Willcoxon, seconded by Mrs. Fisher as referred to the Planning and Zoning Commission. A plat of the proposed Scheperle and Hutton Subdivision as submitted to the Council and on motion of Mr. Dorr, seconded by . R. Jobe, was referred to the Planning and Zoning Commission. '► City Attorney Rose reported that he had the condemnation rdinance ready for the Hough Park Road and that the Rose Brothers ant approximately $5650.00 for right of way. On motion of Mr. Willcoxon, seconded by Mr. R. Jobe, the matter was referred to the Street Committee and City Attorney to onsider and report back at next meeting. Reports of City Officers for the month of December, 1959 ere received. A petition for re-zoning property at 1426 West Main Street as received from Nellie Herrick and Frances Herrick McKay. The petition was referred to the Planning and Zoning ommistion. -- j Request for re-zoning part of the northeast quarter of the . iouthwest quarter of section 12, township 44, Range 12 was received krom Mr. Floyd Mattlage, Director of the Housing Autbority. The request was referred to the Planning and Zoning Commission. Construction report on the construction of Binder Drive etween Marilyn and Livingston Streets was received from the City ngineer. The work was done by Muenks Construction Company at a ost of $12,044.00. The report was approved. It was moved by Mr. R. Jobe and seconded by Mr. Willcoxon ' hat the Building Inspector get the painter who painted the City Hall o retouch the damaged walls and also waterproof walls. The motion was adopted. r ? It was moved by Mr. Willcoxon that the report of the uditors who made the City Audit be referred to the Finance Committee, Sayor and City Clerk and that copies will be in City Clerkrs Office. The motion was adopted._-_ " It was moved by Mr. Kliegel and seconded by Mr. Scrivner that the Finance Committee have a copy of the Auditors Report for tudy prior to the meeting of the Finance Committee. The motion was adop+:ed. Regular Meetin January 4, 1960 Mr. Willcoxon stated that serious consideration should be given the matter of the closing of stores on Sunday. The matter was referred to the Committee of the Whole to meet when Mr. Condit is well and can attend. The chairman to check with , City Attorney Rose and notify the Ministerial Alliance. A motion was made and adopted that the Prosecuting Attorney be asked to attend the Committee of the Whole Meeting. On motion of Mr. D. Jobe, seconded by Mr. Willcoxon, the City Clerk was instructed to get bids on parking meters both single and double head to be installed on High Street from Adams Street to Washington Street and in the 200 block Madison, bids to be received' January 18, 1960. The following resolution was adopted. "Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, that the work of constructing Binder Drive, from Marilyn to Livingston Street be and is hereby approved as the Council finds that said work was done according to plans and specifications." The following resolution was adopted. "Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, that the work of repairing, surfacing and resurfacing of Church Street from the south Right-of-way line of U.S. No. 50 to the south line of the east and west alley through the center of block 1, St. Louis Heights Subdivision be and is hereby approved as the Council finds that said work was done according to plans and specifications.!' The following resolution was adopted. "Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Jefferson,' Missouri, that the work of repairing, surfacing, and resurfacing of the alley between Church Street and Vetter Lane be and is hereby approved as the Council finds that said work was done according to plans and specifications." The following resolution was adopted. "Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, that the work of repairing, surfacing and resurfacing of the alley south of Dunklin Street, between Delaware and Ohio Streets be and is hereby approved as the Council finds that siad woark was done according to plans and specifications." 6858/ The following ordinance was introduced. "An ordinance levying and assessing a special tax bill against the lots or tracks of land fronting or abutting on the roadway of Binder Drive between Marilyn and Livingston Streets in the City of Jefferson Missouri, for the improvement of the said roadway by grading, curbing and guttering and paving with Portland cement concrete." Jobe, seconded by Mr. Vanderfeltz, the rules were suspended and the ordinance was read the third time by title and placed on final passage and was passed by the following vote. "An Ordinance repealing ordinance No. 6852 and enacting in lieu thereof an ordinance levying and assessing a special tax bill against the lots or tracts of land fronting or abutting on the roadway of the alley south of Dunklin Street, between Delaware and Ohio Streets, all of said improvement is within the limits of sprinkling, oiling, repairing, surfacing and resurfacing of District Number Two (2) of the City of Jefferson, Missouri." "An ordinance prohibiting the operator of a motor vehicle from permitting the same to be parked on the south side of Fairmount, Boulevard between two points located 650 feet and 845 feet east of the intersection of the south curb of Fairmount Boulevard with the east curb of Chestnut Street, and providing a penalty."
