Mrs. Fisher read part of a petition which was presented to the'
Council on November 10, 1952 pertaining to water mains on Bald Hill
'Road.
j City Attorney Rose, spoke on the matter of the extension rule i
;which the Capital City Water Company have filed with the Public
Service Commission.
It was moved by Mr. Willcoxon and seconded by Mr. Dorr, that
. Rose make a study of the matter and report back at next meeting
"ton what the City should do. ;!
The motion was adopted_-- t
It was moved and seconded that the next regular meeting of
`;the Council be held on April 11th and the following meeting be on
:April 19th.
The motion was adopted.

f Mr. Dorr requested that a 20 m.p.h. be established on West a
`Main Street at St. Joseph' s Home from Hart Street to the "Y" . j
The City Attorney was instructed to draw the necessary
;ordinance.
City Attorney Rose spoke on the matter of acquiring the Stephens
v 'and Hemmel property for a public parking lot.
It was moved by Mr. Willcoxon, seconded by Mr. Scrivner that
.the owners be offered what they are asking for the property.
The motion was adopted.
The condition of the street from Bluff Street to Garfield was
referred to the Street Commissioner for action.
Mr. Kliegel reported a water problem at Bellevue Court and
heavy traffic on Myrtle and Swift ' s Highway and suggested widening
the curbs south of the seminary wall .
The matter was referred to the Street Committee.
Mayor Whaley read part of a letter addressed to the Jefferson
City Community Planning Commission and the Chamber of Commerce from
Mr. Wm. Tweedie, Paul Doll and Sheldon Gentry, recommending a
mapping program for the City.
The City Engineer recommended that an immediate Aerial Survey
be made of the City. The cost of the first step being $3,000.00 and',
the total cost in the neighborhood of $25,000 .00 . f
It was moved by Mr. R. Jobe and seconded by Mrs. Fisher, that !
the City approve the first step of the Survey at a cost of $3,000.00
The motion was adopted. {
A letter was received from the Rock-A-Bye Nursery, 617 W. Main;
Street requesting parking space from 7: 00 to 9:00 a.m. and
4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
The request was referred to the Parking and Traffic Commission*
Bids were received on the drainage correction in the 200 block.

The bid of Scheperle Construction Company was accepted.

Bids were received on the improvement of Crest Street from
Livingston Street north 351.76 feet, as follows:

The following note was attached to the bid of E. P. Barnett. �!
"Attention City Council. If the money for this street is
placed in escrow or bond made for bid price, I will do the ,job for

On motion made and seconded, the bids were rejected. !�
The following report was received from the Parking and Traffi l
,Commission.
"After due consideration of matters referred to the Commission!
by the City Council and originating within the Commission, the '
following recommendations were made to the City Council at a special,i
meeting of the Commission held on February 18, 1960 and at a regular;
eeting on March 18, 1960: ??
(ITEM 54) Iliat existing stop signs on Miller Street where it inter-j
sects Monroe Street be removed, and stop signs be erected on Monroe j?
Street where it intersects with Miller Street, for the reason that ij
due to construction of the throughway, Miller Street will accommodate
through traffic, whereas Monroe Street will not.
(ITEM 55) . That the two existing loading zones in the north half of !(
; the east side of the 200 block of Madison Street be removed, since
jthe business daces for which the loading zones were created no
ilonger are located there. This space would be used for double-head "
(metering.
;((ITEM 56) That parking in the 100 block of East Miller Street be
,.restricted to the north side only instead of the south side as at
present. Houses have been removed from the south side and the only ;;
;parking requirement for the present and the future is on the north
"side.
; (ITEM 57) That the remaining unmetered parking stalls on the east side of
the north half of the 200 block of Jefferson Street be made metered ';
( stalls with a time limit of 30 minutes. Thest stalls Are presently !
'being preempted by all-day porkers but are urgently needed for
those desiring access to the Jefferson Building on a short-term
basis.
i (ITEM 58) That a "Yield Right of Way" sign be erected on Broadway
Street where it intersects West High Street to control northbound
traffic; that the flashing signal presently facing this traffic rema*n
amber; and that the flashing amber signal presently facing southbound
traffic on Broadway where it intersects with West High Street be
replaced with a flashing red signal.

(ITEM 59) That no parking of any vehicles be allowed on the east
side of Madeline Street from the west end of the street to a point
150 feet east therefrom."

"An Ordinance authorizing and directing the Mayor and the
�iCity Clerk of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, to execute for and on
behalf of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, a quitclaim deed, remisei g,
,releasing and forever quitclaiming unto Mary Wells, as the grantee,
! 11 of the right, title and interest of the City of Jefferson,
�, iseouri, into specifically described real estate in which the City ,I
Hof Jefferson, Missouri, now holds an easement for sanitary sewer
I�urposes."

. Willis, for the purchase of certain real estate by the City of Jeff
