�i A letter was received from Jordan and Kolb requesting that'!
ne hour parking meters be installed in the 400 block Madison Street':
nd that parallel parking be put into effect on both sides of the {

I The matter was referred to the Parking and Traffic
ommission.

i A request was received from property owners that the spur
off Allen Drive be named "Gene Marlin Drive" .
On motion of Mr. Hager, seconded by Mr. Willcoxon, the
;name was accepted.
i} The drainage .condition on Aurora Street was referred to
,the Street Committee.
A petition was received from residents on Tanner Bridge
toad regarding the unsanitary and dangerous conditions at Turp' s
;Garage and asking the Council to take action to correct the problem. :;
On motion of Mr. R. Jobe, seconded by Mr. Scrivner, the
Ouilding Inspector, Electrical Inspector, Plumbing Inspector and .
City Attorney were instructed to make an inspection and report back
to the Board of Health.
The matter of the driveway on city property from Johnson
Street to the alley, whether it is to be temporary or permanent was
discussed and on motion of Mr. Scrivner, seconded by Mr. R. Jobe,
,Was referred to the Street Committee for study and to give a complete
report to the Council.
Thp..matter ofz:conditions of sidewalks, curbs and gutters
was referred to the Street Committee to see what they can work out.
Mrs. Fisher reported a bad place in the walk at the
Governor Hotel on Madison Street at the corner.
Mr. Rose stated that he would call Mr. King about it.
City Attorney Rose reported that Mr. Ruth Heinrich, 1825
Fanner Bridge Road had struck a partly uncovered manhole on Madison I°
ptaeet at Still Hospital and damaged a tire costing $18.25.
On motion of Mr. R. Jobe, .seconded by Mr. Willcoxon, .the
ill was ordered paid. '
`i Mr. Rose stated that Mr. Wheatley Diemler had told him
; hat while he was driving in the alley at Brown and Webers, his car
ant down to the axle and broke a tie rod on the car.
The request for pay was ordered tabled.
Mr. Ernest Wolf and Williams-Romack Co. , submitted letters,
�o the Finance Committee explaining their bids on the city audit.
Mr. Willcoson reported that the Finance Committee
recommends that the audit of the city books be made by Williams-
Romack Co.
The report was approved.
The Street Commissioner reported that the Parking and
I raffic Commission suggested the use of double head meters on a
$rial basis on the north side of the 100 block of East High Street.
It was moved by Mr. Willcoxon, seconded by Mr. Hager that
''the Chief of Police have on of his men help people park for a few
; days when the double head meters are put in.

The motion was adopted.
A letter was received from Mr. N. R. Beagle, President of the
Capital Savings and Loan Ass'n. , 425 Madison, requesting
1. Elimination of all parking along the east-west alley at
their building.
2. Changing parking on the East side of Madison Street between
Miller and McCarty from angle to curb parking and limiting
parking time length as in effect south of Miller on Madison
3. Moving the trafficway liminaire near the north corner of
their Madison Street building to the alley pole some 50 feet,
fuirther north at the alley entrance.
The parking matters were Mere referred to the Parkigg and Traffic
Commission and the matter of moving the trafficway luminaire was
referred to the Water and Light Committee.
The following communication was received from Major Brothers
Construction Company.
"In May, 1957, two and one-half years ago, we deposited $1,200.00
with the city to construct a proposed sewer lagoon.
Insomuch as the lagoon has- not been built, we should like to have
our money refunded.
At such time as the lagoon may be constructed, we shall be glad
to contribute $1,200.00 toward the construction cost.
Your cooperation is appreciated."
The request was granted.
The following communication was received from Al G. Kelly &
Miller Bros . Circul, Inc.
"We herewith make written application for the return of a city
licence fee of $100.00 paid by our agent Mr. Arthur W. Miller, for
exhibition of the above shows in your city on Saturday, September 26
1959 .
Due to severe weather and weather warnings, we were forced to
cancel this engagement and no exhibition was given in your city, for '
which purpose your city license was issued.
Please issue a check in favor of the above named shows and mail
same to our office at Hugo, Oklahoma.
Thanking you in advance for any courtesies extended, I remain

On motion made and seconded the request was granted.
The following report was received from the Street Committee.
"The matter of curb cut by Otto Botz, we recommend a 21� foot cut.
Drainage condition on Adams Street between Dunklin and Ashley,
we recommend that Mr. Curtis repair alley.
Request of Southwestern Bell to install cable line on Walnut
Street, we approve request. ;
Drainage condition at Hillbilly Village, we.,.-recommend that
Mr. Curtis build up surface of street so that water will run into
catch basin."
The report was approved.
The following ordinance was introduced.
"An Ordinance prohibiting the operator of a motor vehicle from
permitting the same to be parked at the north curb of West Main
Street between the east curb of East Circle Drive and a point located
283 feet east thereof, and providing a penalty."
