Jobe, Kliegel, Scrivner, Vanderfeltz and Willcoxon. 10 ; Absent: None. A quorum was declared present. Reports for the month of October, 1959 were received. A letter was received from the Trinity Lutheran Church, requesting that a fire hydrant be installed on Stadium Drive and that two fire hydrants be installed on Swift's Highway at locations shown on accompanying sketch. The request was referred to the Water and Light Committee. Mr. R. Jobe presented a request from Mr.Robert Pratt, that ; the lane located to the south of Lee Street, extending from the end ; of Dockery Street and running westerly to Moreau Drive, be named "Lee Lane" . On motion of Mr. R. Jobe, seconded by Mr. Scrivner, the : City Attorney was instructed to draw the necessary ordinance. Mrs. Fisher spoke of the need of widening and improving " Hough Park Road. After a discussion the matter was referred to the Street ' Committee and the two Councilmen from the Fifth Ward and the City Attorney to study and report back to the Council. Mr. Graham, manager of the Kress Store, stated that the merchants would like to have the cross walks re-instated in the 100 and 200 block of East High Street. The matter was referred to the Parking and Traffic Commission and the City Clerk instructed to advise the Commission. On motion of Mr. D. . Jobe, seconded by Mrs. Fisher, the bills which were approved by the Accounts and Claims Committee, were . ordered paid. City Attorney Rose, reported to the Council on the investigation he had made of the complaint at Turps Garage. The Water and Light Committee was requested to check the matter of the lighting in the area. The drainage condition at Aurora Street was referred to the Street Committee. r r r r r w r On motion of Mr. Willcoxon, seconded by Mr. R. Jobe, the City Attorney was instructed to amend the present ordinance concerni,?ng solicitors, to include telephone solicitation. The rate to be $1.0qQ, per day per person. On motion of :Mr. . Condit, seconded by Hr. R. . Jbbe,i :'the Council congratulated Mr. John Sullivan, Fire Chief on his being elected President of the newly organized Fire Chiefs Organization. :. The following communication was received from the Roy A. Scheperle Construction Company. "We request permission to cut curb and install 30' drive apron, on south side of McCarty Street to run from NW corner of part of Inlot 533 easterly along McCarty Street. We request permission to change existing curb inlet, to gutter inlet of required size and with required grate and Manhole lid." "An Ordinance authorizing and directing the Mayor of the City I of Jefferson, Missouri, for and on behalf of the City to accept a Quit-claim deed executed on October 28, 1959 by the Capital City Telephone Company by which deed an easement and right of way is conveyed to the City of Jefferson to permit ingress and egress to th Jefferson City Memorial Airport property in the County of Callaway, i! ` asouri, and authorizing and directing the construction of two 25 foot entrance roadways from the easement to the adjacent land of J the grantor after providing for adequate surface water drainage under said entrance roadways."
