A quorum was declared present.
Mr. Condit reported that the Airport Committee recommends
adoption of the resolution giving consent to the Brummet Aircraft
Company to assign a certain lease, which it holds, to William
E. Ase1 and Richard T. Baird d/b/a Industrial Aviation.
On motion of Mr. Ralph Jobe, seconded by Mrs. Fisher the
City Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids on a building for
the Street Department. Specifications to be furnished by the
i Street Commissioner.

j A letter was received from Mr. J. G. Christy, submitting
his resignation as City Director of Civil Defense.
On motion of Mr. Hager, seconded by Mr. Dave Jobe the
jjresignation was accepted with regret.
Mayor Ellis submitted the appointment of Mr. J. J. Jacobus
j as City Civil Defense Director to succeed Mr. J. G. Christy,
resigned.
The appointment was approved.
Captain Freeman Farmer extedded an invitation to the Mayor
and members of the City Council to attend the Policemen' s
barbeque on January 27th.
On motion of Mr. R. Jobe, seconded by Mr. Dorr, the City
Engineer was instructed to establish the grade on Minnesota Street
; from Laurel Street west.
Mr. Condit reported that the Board of Fire Wardens held a
;Imeeting and assigned two Chaplains to the Fire Department and
! medals were assigned to each of them.

Mr. R. Jobe reported that a meeting of the Board of Health
was held on the matter of the garbage collections in the City at
which a better understanding was reached with Mr. John Rathouz.
Also that complaints in connection with garbage collections etc. ,

On motion of Mr. Scrivner, seconded by Mr. D. Jobe, the paving:;
of Walnut Street was held up for further investigation.
Mr. R. Jobe spoke of the danger to children playing in front
� of the Schmutz Trailer Court on Schott Road. i
The matter was referred to the Police Board to act on a
. proper sign to slow down traffic.

The following resolution was adopted. li
"WHEREAS, on the 1st day of May, 1949, a lease was entered into
! by and between Raymond Brummet, d/b/a Brummet Aircraft Company,
! as Lessee, and the City of Jefferson, Missouri, as Lessor, of a
,%I! portion of the Jefferson City Memorial Airport which the City of
Jefferson owns and operates in Callaway County, Missouri, the term '
l� of said lease beginning on the 1st day of June, 1949 , and ending
ion the 31st day of May, 2048, and
WHEREAS, the said Raymond Brummet wishes to assign and transfer
all of his interest in and to said lease, to William E. Asel and
Richard T. Baird, d/b/a Industrial Aviation, and
Regular Meeting, January 19 1959
i WHEREAS, according to the terms of said lease, written
onsent for said assignment and transfer must be first obtained

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Council of the City !�
if Jefferson, Missouri: That the City of Jefferson does hereby
onsent to the assignment hereinabove described by Raymond Brummet
o William E. Asel and Richard T. Baird.
That this resolution is to be considered written consent to !

On motion made and seconded, the Council recessed, subject t
