Jobe, Jordan, Scrivner and Willcoxon. 8 :Absent: R. Jobe Jr. and Vanderfeltz. 2 I i j A quorum was declared present. It was moved by Mr. Willcoxon and seconded by Mr. Scrivner, tthat the Democrat and Republican City Committee be allowed to (recommend eight persons each to act as Registration Clerks in each 'precinct at the City Election on April 7th. The motion was adopted. The City Clerk was instructed to have twenty-four signs ;'made, designating the polling places, and that they be left in the ;jPolice Department and that the police put them up in front of each :,polling place. { On motion of Mr. D. Jobe the City Clerk was instructed to `advise Mr. Jim McHenry that the letter from Mr. Luecke will be read ,at the first meeting in April. It was moved by Mr. Willcoxon and seconded by Mr. Dorr that All the ordinances which have been prepared be read at this meeting 'land that copies of the traffic and parking ordinances be sent to Mr. Jim McHenry. The motion was adopted. City Attorney Rose read a letter from the Public Service ,Commission stating that the Missouri Power and Light Co. is asking 'for a rate increase for gas. The raise to be effective April 15th, If no objection is made by the City. Mr. Rose asked what action the City wants to take. j Mr. Dorr asked that the City insist on the Missouri Power and Light Co. use the 1958 report in connection with their request 'for a raise and that the City ask the Public Service Coirmnission for ,'a hearing. The following report was received from the Finance Committee. "The matter of a salary increase for the Office of Mayor ,'was referred to the Finance Committee. During our Finance Committee meeting the Committee was ,palled by telephone from Forrest (Red) Whaley and he said he had ust read this evenings news paper and he does not want the Mayor' s Salary increased and he would personally refuse such an increase. Therefore the Finance Committe does not recommend a ;�alary increase for the office of Mayor of Jefferson City." The report was approved. :I On motion of Mr. Willcoxon, seconded by Mr. Condit, the following places were selected and designated as the polling places for the City Election to be held on April 7, 1959 . "An Ordinance prohibiting the operator of a motor vehicle from, permitting the same to be parked within certain areas on designated :}streets within the City of Jefferson, Missouri, and providing a penalty for the violation of same." "An Ordinance repealing subparagraph (e) of Section 88 of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Jefferson, 1956, and reenacting; a new ordinance to be known as subparagraph (e) of Section 88 pertaining to the same subject, that is, permissible time for double': parking of service cars and delivery cars." "An Ordinance repealing section 52 of the Revised Ordinances ok :the City of Jefferson, Missouri, relating to the double parking of `motor vehicles and enacting a new ordinance pertaining to the same 'subject, and providing a penalty." Read first time at length, second time by title, and on motion;, of Mr. Scrivner, seconded by Mr. Jordan, the rules were suspended and 'the ordinance was read the third time by title and placed on final passage and was passed by the following vote. ;Ayes - Condit, Dorr, Fisher, Hager, D.
