On motion of Mr. Jordan, seconded by Mrs. Fisher the bids were

bid be awarded to Paden Motor Company which was approved by the

j A report was received from the Planning and Zoning Commission
approving the request of Mr. Ray Scheperle to have Public Amusementi
;;and Paid Recreation added to the allowable uses in District "F" .

I; A report was received from the Planning and Zoning Commission in !j
;;regard to the matter of rezoning, from District A-2 to District F,
Lots 11 and 12 of the L.M. Beck Subdivision. The Commission upheld:.'
Fits decision of February 17, and recommended that the lots be rezonod

The report was ordered filed.
Street Committee Report. ;I
The alley east of Johnson Street and north of Hough Street be
'opened for use.
i Committee recommends that Mr. Curtis give the Council the cost
ifor this work at the next regular meeting.
The matter of Martin Oidtman connecting to City Sewer, recommend '
that this be allowed under special regulation which the City
,Attorney will submit.

A report was received from the Fire Board regarding the request `
�!of Fire Chief John Sullivan for additional firemen. The Fire Board
iidoes hereby recommend that two additional firemen be added to the
!Fire Department, and that the City Attorney be instructed to draw
`'Iup ordinance to be acted on at the May meeting of the City Council. ;
The report was approved.

A communication from the Von Hoffmann Press, Inc. , asking that
their bid dated April 7, 1958 , for the printing of the Public
Improvement Bonds be withdrawn.
On motion of Mr. Dorr, seconded by Mr. Jordan, the communication'!
was ordered filed.

On motion of Mr. Willcoxon, seconded by Mrs. Fisher, the final
bid of the Columbian Bank Note Company, including impressing the
City's Seal, the State Auditor's Seal and the Mayor' s facsimile
signature on the bonds and the use of the signature machine, amounting
to $354.50 was accepted.
On motion of Mr. WilagpioldvEgeanded by Mrs. Fisher the City
,Clerk and Bond Attorney/to a e necessry steps to complete the
` details in connection with the signing, delivery, etc. of the
1 $1,000,000.00 Public Improvement Bonds.
On motion of Mr. Scrivner, seconded by Mr. Willcoxon, all �!
unfinished business of the old council to be carried over to the
new council.
The motion was adopted.

time and referred to the Planning and Zoning Commission on April 7, i.

"An Ordinance changing, amending and modifying the zoning map

Ordinance Number 5880 with reference to certain specifically j

On motion of Mr. Jordan, seconded by Mr. Vanderfeltz, the
;ordinance was read the third time and placed on final passage, and
!upon roll call was defeated by the following vote.

On motion of Mr. Jordan, seconded by Mr. Dorr the following
items were referred to the Street Committee.
Drainage ditch out on Stadium Blvd. on Mrs. Swift' s property,
on lots 17 and 18 . is
Lower manhole in alley located back of Schrimpf' s Store at
St. Mary' s Blvd. and Michigan Street (alley runs east and west
between Michigan and Ohio Streets) , also to cut down tree on City
right of way.
Mr. Ralph Jobe mentioned the matter of the blacktop on Green- �+
berry Road being badly chipped, a culvert in front of Herbert
Markway's driveway be raised, and a ditch be dug along left side i
of Hough Park Road from Isom Street to Dixon Drive.
The matter was held over until the next Council Meeting.

Mr. Rose was advised to contact Martine Oidtman as quickly as
possible, to have him fill out necessary forms to make it possible t ,
to connect with the City Sewer System.

On motion of Mr. Dorr, seconded by Mr. R. Jobe, the City
Attorney is to be allowed $50.00 per month for clerical expenses.

A petition was received from The Capital City Water Company,
asking for a special permit to construct and maintain a clear-water '
basin, or clearwell, on part of Inlots 12 and 13.
The petition was referred to the Water and Light Committee and
the Planning and Zoning Commission.

The Police Board reported as follows:
Recommend that the Captains, Sergeants, Corporals and Patrolmen ;'
of the Jefferson City Police Department be reappointed; a '
slow-children sign, be placed on Walsh Street; the City Clerk be
instructed to advertise for bids for a replacement for the Safety
Patrol Car No. 13; and the request of Mr. Thomas Walsh concerning i
traffic problem at High and Mulberry to be filed.
The report was approved.
On motion of Mr. Willcoxon, seconded by Mr. Scrivner, the forms '
for permission to connect to City Sewers are to be attached to
Ordinance #6597.
Resolution No. 72
"Resolution No. 72, providing for the improvement of Boonville
Road from the intersection of Boonville Road and the north line of
Sunset Place Addition, to the intersection of Boonville Road and a
point 1170 feet south of the north line of Livingston Street, was
adopted by the Council.

"An ordinance providing for the construction of a sidewalk o
, cement concrete material, four feet in width, 0.5 feet back from
face of curb, on the west side of Jackson Street, between Woodlawn
Avenue and Hickory Streets, and abutting lot .93 of Woodcrest
Addition owned by Wm E. & Dorothy Parkhurst." ,
Read 1st time at length, 2nd time by title and on motion of
Mr. Willcoxon, seconded by Mr. R. Jobe, the rules were suspended
and the ordinance was read the 3rd time by title and placed on fine
passage and was passed by the following vote.

6597/ The following ordinance was introduced.
"An ordinance puth6rizing property owners outside of the
city limits of the City of Jefferson City, Missouri, to apply for
permission to connect sanitary trunk line sewers as extensions to
the city sanitary sewer system in the South Wear' s Creek watershed,
providing for the construction and maintenance of said sewer, and
the cost thereof, and the procedure to be followed in making
connections of individual laterals of property owners to said trunk
line extensions under certain terms and conditions."
Read 1st time at length, 2nd time by title and on motion of
Mr. Willcoxon, seconded by Mr. Scrivner, the rules were suspended
and the ordinance was read the 3rd time by title and placed on
final passage and was passed by the following vote.
