Jobe, Jordan, Scrivner, Vanderfeltz and Willcoxon. 10 !IAbsent - None 0 „ A quorum was declared present.. y A petition was received from property owners, requesting that ! the alley be opened in the 300 block between Buchanan Street and ' Lincoln Street from Edwards Street to the Park property. i The matter was referred to the Street Commissioner to do the !work when he has time. 'S Bids on the Collections and disposal of garbage, trash, etc. , !ifrom residences, hospitals and business places were received from ;Robert �B. Bosch, Jefferson City, Missouri; John Rathaus, Jefferson ;City, Missouri; Mr. Joseph Pace and James A. Vust, of Cape ;Girardeau and St. Louis, Missouri. On motion of Mrs. Fisher, seconded by Mr. R. Jobe, the bids were referred to the Committee of the Whole for study. j The Committee of the Whole was requested to meet August 29th. On motion of Mr. Willcoxon, seconded by Mr. R. Jobe, the i .,regular meeting of the City Council will be held on September 8, 1956. A petition of a majority of the property owners owning a fma�ority of the front footage, objecting to the proposed improvement, of Hough Park Road from Greenberry Road to Winston Drive was received. It was moved by Mr. R. Jobe, seconded by Mr. Dorr that the Council igo on record in opposition to improvement of Hough Park Road at this: ;Rime. The motion was adopted. Mr. D. Jobe stated that it is not good policy to force paving if a majority of the property owners sign a petition protesting. In regard to the vacating of a portion of Hart and Miller ;Streets, Mr. Dorr reports that the Street Committee finds several ;portions that can be vacated and recommends the necessary vacations od that City sell two sections of the land for a price equal to the. at of grading and paving the street so the city will not be out lny money. i� The report was approved. It was moved by Mr. Willcoxon and seconded by Mr. Scrivner that the land to be sold be advertised in the newspaper. The motion was adopted. f� Mr. Dorr stated that the Street Committee recommended that i0uchanan Street between Riverside Drive and Hough Street be mproved, curbed and guttered in the regular manner, and that the j 'City Engineer advertise for bids to take the hump out of Minnesota i! Otreet. i The report was adopted. On Motion of Mr. Dorr, seconded by Mr. Willcoxon, the grading ,atc. , of the hump on Minnesota Street was left to the judgement of Pe City Engineer. On motion of Mr. Willcoxon, seconded by Mrs. Fisher, the City �ngineer was instructed to acquire right of way fdr Hough Park Road. ` } ;i Mr. Dorr Requested that the vacating Ordinance vacating a portion of Hart and Miller Streets not be signed until the land to pe sold is advertised and the sale made. Mrs. Fisher spoke on the matter of the Hough Park Road improver nt and widening. Recess Meeting, August 25 1958 Resolution No. 76. "Resolution No. 76, providing for the improvement of Buchanan Street, between the curb lines, from the center of the intersection of Buchanan Street and Hough Street, to the center of the intersectio of Buchanan Street and River Side Drive was adopted by the Council." . 6643/ The following ordinance was introduced. "An ordinance providing for the improvement of the roadway of ,Hilda Street in the block from the center of the intersection of 'Hilda Street and William Street to the center of the intersection of; 'Hilda Street and a point 415 feet south of the center line of ;William Street in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, by paving with ;Portland cement concrete." ! "An ordinance of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, establishing 'the grade of the roadway of Hilda Street, from the center line of Villiams Street south 415 feet." Read lot time at length, 2nd time by title and on motion of 'Mr. R. Jobe, seconded by Mr. Jordan, the rules were suspended and the" ordinance was read the 3rd time by title and placed on final passage'' :and was passed by the following vote. Ayes • Condit, Dorr, Fisher, Hager, D. Jobe, R. Jobe, Jordan, Vanderfeltz and Willcoxon. 9 Absent - Scrivner 1 6645/ The following ordinance was introduced. "An ordinance of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, establishing the grade of the roadway of William Street from the east curb line of Dix Road to the west curb line of Beck Street." Read lot time at length, 2nd time by title and on motion of Mr. R. Jobe, seconded by Mr. Jordan, the rules were suspended and thi ordinance was read the 3rd time by title and placed on final passage!; and was passed by the following vote. Ayes - Condit, Dorr, Fisher, Hager, D. Jobe, R. Jobe, Jordan, Vanderfeltz and Willcoxon. 9 Absent - Scrivner 1 I 6646/ The following ordinance was introduced. "An ordinance, of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, vacating ands: .discontinuing as a part of the public thoroughfare part of Miller Street, fronting on the northerly side of lots 5,6,7 and 8 Block 2 of Wolff' s Subdivision as per plat of record in Plat Book 3 Page 22, ! Cole County Recorder' s Office. And authorizing and directing the Mayor of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, to execute all necessary instruments to the owners of the adjacent lots to and for said portion of said street so vacated, as the parties entitled thereto, as shown by the record title to said adjacent and abutting property ; and declaring a reverter to the respective owners of said real estate Read lot time at length, 2nd time by title and on motion of Mr. R. "An ordinance, of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, vacating and discontinuing as a part of the public thoroughfare part of Hart I Street, fronting on the westerly side of lot 8 Block 2 of Wolff' s Subdivision. as per plat of record in Plat Book 3 Page 22, Cole Count Recorder's Office, and authorizing and directing the Mayor of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, to execute all necessary instruments to the owners of the adjacent lots to and for said portion of said stre t so vacated, as the parties entitled thereto, as shown by the record title to said adjacent and abutting property and declaring a reverts to the respective owners of said real estate."
