The Police Board reported that they recommend that the bid of 1$1,454.09 on a Fairlane Ford car for the Police Department be !accepted. The report was approved. !) i The following report was submitted by the Street Committee. "Drainage problem at 2300 Hillsdale Street, we recommend that j! City Engineer get bids for a larger opening under street. "Letter from Mr. Wendell Manchester asking City pay plumbing bill, was disapproved. "Request from Mr. Livingston for permission to grade Binder :Drive from Marilyn to Livingston Street, Committee approves request. .:This will require two large pipes which City will have to buy. "Request by Dr. A. P. Stephan for roadway into his property, we ,recommend that City Engineer ask for bids, location is off Johnson Street. "The bids for extension of Industrial Road from Dix Road to North Ten Mile Drive, Street Committee met with Special Road District, ,November 7th and both Committees approved, we recommend that the Edgar H. Schneiders Cons' t. Co. be awarded the contract for $56,261.00. "The matter of Jack Wilson asking for the changing of Sewer District 97 "A" , we recommend that District remain as originally set; up and that City Attorney be instructed to secure right of way by condemnation. "Sheldon Gentry drainage complaint, no action taken because we do not think City has any liability." The report was approved. The City Attorney was instructed to have 25 copies made of the ordinance concerning dogs on the school grounds to send to the various schools. Mr. R. Jobe spoke of the drainage problem in the 1100 block Fairmount and the City Engineer and City Attorney were instructed to make another effort to get proper easements to take care of the .matter. The City Clerk was instructed to write the Special Road District;; 'requesting that they repair Boonville Road from the present pavements, to the city limits. It was moved by Mr. Willcoxon, seconded by Mr. Dorr, that Mr. Beagle be authorized to hire an inspector over the work on Industrial Drive. The motion was adopted. The Police Department was instructed to assume the responsibility of placing no parking signs at the intersections of High Street and ' ;Monroe, High Street and Madison and High Street and Jefferson. Drainage conditions at Justice Street and Houchin Street and Elm were referred to the Street Committee. Drainage problems at 500 block Bolivar Street at residence of Ralph Erhardt and at 1101 St. Mary' s at residence of Pauline Wekamp ,were referred to the Street 'Committee. i i Regular Meetingj November 17 1958 Sewer problem at 1109 Jefferson Street at Julius Richter home ' f�was referred to the Street Committee. Water problems in 200 block Chestnut Street and in the 200 block Dawson Street were referred to the Street Commissioner. t I� The matter of enlarging pipe under 800 block Monroe was referred to the Street Committee. I Mr. Issac, 2202 Marilyn Street spoke to the Council in regard ,to his sewer which does not have enough fall from the house to the 1; �Imain sewer and the expense he had incurred because of same. The matter was referred to the Finance Committee and City Attorney. �I A letter was received from Mr. Alex Vetter, Chairman of the Bond Issue Advisory Committee, stating that his committee recommends that the City Council have prepared an ordinance to establish a permanent Traffic and Parking Commission and that the ordinance be ! ;.patterned after and similar to the plan outlined in the Bartholomew !report and that it delegate to the Commission the responsibility ;and authority suggested therein, it is also advisable that commission Abe appointed at an early date in order that their work can be coordi,6ated th that of Advisory Committee. ' On motion of Mr. Willcoxon, seconded by Mr. R. Jobe, the 1 ,recommendation was approved and the City Attorney was instructed to :i ,prepare the proper ordinance. !� The following construction report was received from the 'y Xity Engineer. "Construction of Boonville Road, from the north, line, of Sunset; ''Place Addition north to a point that is 1170 feet south of the north', dine of Livingston Street. The work was done by Hunter Brothers Construction Company at a cost of $16,829 .86." !' The report was approved. The following construction report was received from the `.City Engineer. "Construction of Hart Street from Miller Street south to o. Pacific Railroad crossing. The work was done by Hunter Brothers Construction Company at ! !a cost of $600.00." ' The report was approved. { The following construction report was received from the k�City Engineer. "Construction of Hilda Street between William Street and lot ;alley south of William Street. The work was done by E.P. Barnett at a cost of $6, 144.00." The report was approved. The following construction report was received from the :City Engineer. j "Maintenance of Minnesota Street between Holly Drive and Laurel Drive. The work was done by Hunter Bros. Construction Co. at a cost of $334.00." ;t The report was approved. The following resolution was adopted. ? "Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Jefferson, Sissouri, that the work of constructing the Boonville Road, from fhe north line of Sunset Place Addition north to a point that is 170 feet south of the north line of Livingston Street be and is 4hereby approved as the Council finds that said work was done J�according to plans and specifications." 119 Re ular Meeting, November 17 . 1958 i The following resolution was adopted. "Be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, that the work of constructing Hilda Street, from William Street south to alley be and is hereby approved as the Council finds that said work was done according to plans and specifications-i' i The following ordinance which was read the first and second i ;time at the meeting held October 6, 1958 was called up for third treading. j "An ordinance repealing Ordinance 5179, 5454, and 6045 defining "Milk" and certain "Milk Products", "Milk Producer" , "Pasteurization ' , etc. , prohibiting the sale of adulterated and misbranded milk and ;milk products; regulating the inspection of dairy farms and milk lI ,,plants, and the examination, grading, labeling, pasteurization, iregrading, distribution, and sale of milk and milk products; !� "providing for the publishing of milk grades, the construction of ifuture dairies and milk plants, the enforcement of this ordinance, And the fixing of penalties, and enacting a new ordinance pertaining; to the same subject." ." Livingston Street in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, for the 'improvement of the said roadway by grading, curbing and guttering ;and paving with portland cement concrete." "An ordinance of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, authorizing; and directing the appropriation and condemnation by the City of specifically described land for sanitary sewer right of way purposes, declaring it necessary to take and appropriate said property for public use so that a sanitary sewer might be laid in Sewer District No. 97A of the City, declaring that no benefit district shall be established, and that any damages assessed, if assessed, will be paid from funds within the City Treasury."
