ORDINANCE NO, 63 -117
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY
EXTENDING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF ORDINANCE
NO. 63 -110 TO PERMIT FURTHER CONSIDERA-
TION OF ZONING TO BE APPLfED TO A PORTION
OF THE AREA LYING BETWEEN CLOVERLY AVENUE
ON THE WEST, TEMPLE CITY BLVD, ON THE EAST,
LAS TUNAS DRIVE ON THE SOUTH, AND WOODRUFF
AVE. ON THE NORTH
WHEREAS the -City Council did heretofore on August 26, 1963,
adopt Ordinance No. 63 -110 as an emergency ordinance pursuant to Gov-
ernment Code Section 65806, to permit the completion of its zoning
study of that certain area lying between Cloverly Ave. on the west,
Temple City Blvd. on the east, Las Tunas Drhve on the south and
Woodruff Ave. on the north., and
WHEREAS the time period of ninety days established in said
Ordinance No. 63 -110 has proven to be too short a period to accomplish
the study and resolution of all of the zoning in the subject area, and
WHEREAS the Planning Commission of the City of Temple City
did on November 19, 1963, complete its study in respect to the zoning
of the City of Temple City and has forwarded to the City Council its
recommended zoning map, with copies of its minutes and a summary of
its findings, and
WHEREAS the City Council will hold a public hearing in re-
spect to adoption of the zoning map, as required by law within ninety
days after considering the recommended zoning map of the Planning -
Commission, and to determine and resolve the final adoption of a zon-
ing map, and
WHEREAS the paramount interest of the people of Temple City
requires that full opportunity be given for completion of the zoning
studies and hearings in respect to the entire master plan, and in par-
ticular as to the subject area, now therefor
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council expressly finds that it is
necessary to complete the master zone studies, presently coming to a
conclusion, in regard to the property as shown upon the map attached
here., marked Exhibit "A ", and made a part hereof as though set forth
in full prior to releasing said subject property to any prior zoning
heretofore applied to the said subject property and that the subject
property shall be zoned as shown on the said map outlined in red upon
Exhibit "A "hereafter referenced as "the subject property" and said zon-
ing shall be effective until the adoption of a zoning map for the entir;
City of Temple City in completion of the development of a master plan-
For :,Temp1e City or ninety days from the date of this Ordinance, which-
ever shall occur first.
SECTION 2. Pursuant to Section 65806 of the Government Code,
the City Council finds that it is necessary to protect the public safe-
ty, health and welfare, that this Ordinance be adopted as an emergency
IImeasure and as such this Ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon its adoption.
SECTION 3. In the event the City Council shall fail to re-
zone the subject area prior to the end of ninety days from the effec-
tive date of this Ordinance the zoning heretofore applicable prior to
the adoption of Ordinance No. 63 -110, shall apply.

November 25, 1963, by the following roll call vote:
