Lockport Street Attendees: Tim Stetenfeld, Steve Pre ze, Greg Schaef er, Michael Blaylock, and Troy Strange . Also: Brian Murphy, Michael Garrigan, Jon Proulx, Amy De Boni , and Rick Kaczanko . The meeting was called to order at 7:4 0 a .m. Anna Trost, Michael Konrad, Mike Paris, Harold Oliver, Pat Harbour, and Brian Davis were absent. Public Comments: None. Business Meeting The Task Force discussed the possibility of Downtown/Small Business Retention Visits . It was the consensus of the Task Force to see if the small business own er s are interested in p articipating in the late spring. Michael G arrigan explained that, as part of the Strategic Plan, th e Planni ng Department is working on a s eries of workshops on downtown visioning and the boundaries of the downtown. Other downtown topics included : the former Mexican restaurant that is now being brokered; a developer ’s concept for the parcel next to Walg reen s; the YMCA ; and that the LaSalle Bank building has a new owner . There are preliminary discussions regarding a townhome project at Prairie Creek . Commercial Update: Speedway has been approved at Renwick and Route 30; McDonald’s and Wendy’s a re reimaging: the Burger King is changing to Hardee ’s; and a big box is looking at sites in town. Developers are working on projects at the Kombol Property (County Line & Renwick); Fairfiel d Ridge was approved by the Board; Pulte and NVR are bullish on the area; and there is activity in Creekside. A discussion on economic incentives was tabled. Brian Murphy provided a report from the Will County Workforce Investment Board and asked if the Task Force would be interested in learning more about what they do . T he Task Force expressed interest. Staff will invite them to attend the next meeting. The next meeting is April 9. The meeti ng adjou rned at approximately 8:3 5 a.m .
