II On motion made by Mr. Hogg, the report was approved. -------------------- t Mr. Robinson reported that the Annexation Committee had met with Annexation the Greater Jefferson City Committee and discussed the work that Committee. was being done. -------------------- The following report was submitted by Mr. Cline, Chairman of the Parking Parking and Traffic Commission: & PARKING & TRAFFIC COMMISSION Traffic f Commission j' Meeting was held on Saturday, June 22, 1963 , at the Report Jefferson City Police Department. Those present were : Mayor John + G. Christy, Robert Debo, Perry W. Hawes , Forrest W. Scrivner, Lt. Lawrence C. Patton, and Donald Cline. "! 1. The Commission has been considering for some time the ! purahase of a 35 mm camera and slide projector to be utilized in studing parking and traffic conditions of the City. At this meeting j we were able to show the significant contribution made by the use of a visual aid in making decisions in matters referred to the Committion. Thus , it was a unanimous recommendation of the members } present, as well as Mayor Christy, to purchase a 35mm camera, projector, and accessories , the amount not to exceed $150.00. 2. It is recommended that a "Yield Right Of Way" sign be 1; erected at the intersection of Loingston and Binder. The sign o be erected on the Southeast corner of Livingston. It is alsogre- commended that a diversified direction sign be erected at the end of Binder Street, inasmuch as it is a dead-end street, and is 4 considered hazardous without some type of marking. 3. It is recommended that a "Yield Right Of Way" sign be ( placed at the intersection of Binder and Hillsdale. Signs to be 1 erected on Hillsdale, affecting East and West bound traffic. 4. It is recommended that the parking area in the 200 block of Adams Street adjacent to the front of the State Republican! Headquarters be clearly marked by a yellow line. The area is needed for parking and is paramount to the property owner. A curb cut has existed for some time. The re-evaluation of past recommendations }, leads the Commission to believe that until we can assure uniformity in replacing curb cuts, we must consider the request of the i property owners. The Commission further recommends that the Ordi- nances now prevailing relative to the installation of parking } meters in this area and the restoration of a curb cut be rescinded.' 5. A survey of an area adjacent to and in the rear of Tweedie '' Shoe Factory at Jefferson and Water Street indicates that a parking problem exists, thus, the No Parking area should be extended ten : (10) more feet from the corner so semitrucks and other vehicles are . able to negotiate the corner. It is also recommended that No Parking be otablished on the North side of Water Street, 100 Last and 100 West, to be painted along the railroad right of way. 6. It is recommended that a loading zone be established in front of the Missouri Osteopathic Association, McCarty Street, usual jprovisions relative to loading zones will prevail. 7. It is recommended by the Commission that bids be obtained . :; for a refrigerated water cooler at the Parking Garage. ; 8. It is recommended by the Commission that bids be acquired I` for extension of the parking attendants booth at the Municipal ; Parking Garage. It is believed that imclement weather requires suchtj. a facility. :f Respectfully submitted, /s/ Donald V. Cline Donald V.
