Regular Meeting, April 20, 1964

Prayer. Prayer was offered by Mayor Christy.
Roll Call. Present: Councilmen Cline, Debo, Hawes, Hogg, Jobe, Kliegel,
Riner, Robinson, Scrivner and Willcoxon . 10

A quorum was declared present.

Mr. Wisely, representing Horner and Shifrin reported to the Council
that Fred M. Luth and Sons, St . Louis, Missouri, had the lowest and
best bid.
On motion of Mr. Robinson, the bid was approved subject to final
checking by the Engineer and Housing and Home Finance Agency.
The Motion passed.

Minutes. On motion of Mr. Willcoxon, the munutes of the previous meeting
were approved as read.

Request to A communication was received from Fred Rost requesting that the emit
vacate alley, west alley located between the 500 block of West High Street and
West McCarty Street which dead-ends in Wiers Creek be vacated at
the property line north of the alley owned by Willard Stockman and ;
Fred Rost . Mr. Rose, City Attorney, reported that necessary
ordinance would be brought up later in the meeting.

Street Mr. Willcoxon, Chairman of the Street Committee presented the
Committee following report: April 20, 1964
Report. Gentlemen:
The Street Committee met in the City Engineer' s Office on 1
Monday, April 20, 1964, at 7: p.m. Present were: Monde Willcoxon;
Chairman; Don Cline; Dave Jobe; and Ed Kliegel. The following
Matters were considered;
John Street
The request for curb and guttering of John Street between
Monroe and Madison Streets.

The Committee recommends that any improvement on this street should'
come as a result of a petition by the property owners and should bed
paid for by special tax bills.
William Street
Since plans prepared by the Missouri State Highway Depart-
went include provision for drainage on this street, the Committee
recommends that the City Attorney prepare an Ordinance to be in-
troduced at the Council Meeting of April 21, 1964, authorizing the*,
Mayor to enter into a supplemental agreement with the Missouri
State Highway Commission relative to this subject.

Schott Road right-of-way (�
The Committee recommends that the City Attorney prepare ';,
a deed for the desired right-of-way, which is estimated to cost
$175 - $200, this money to come out of the Right-of-way Fund.

The following report of the Public Utilities Committee was pre- y Utilities
sented by Mr. Debo, Chairman: April 20, 1964 Ir Committee
Dear Mayor Christy: Report.
Your Utilities Committee met this date with Councilmen Debo,
Riner, Scrivner and Hogg present.
The Committee approved and recommends to the Council the Following
1. Replace a 1,000 incandescent street light at the intersection
of Fairmount and Moreau Drive with a new 6,800 lumen mercury
vapor light. It
2. Install a new 6,800 lumen mercury vapor light in the middle of
the 400 block of Washington Street.
3. Install a new 6,800 lumen mercury vapor lgith in the middle ofd
the 100 block of Jackson Street.
4. Replace a 1,000 incandescent street light at the corner of
Broadway and Linden (next to the culvert) with a new 6,800 fj
lumen mercury vapor light.

5. Replace two 1,000 incandescent street lights and install a
third light in the 1400 block of Debra Street with new 6,800
lumen mercury vapor lights.
6. Replace a 1,000 incandescent street light in the 100 block of
Clay Street with a new 6,800 lumen mercury vapor light.
7. Replace two 1,000 incnadescent street lights and install a
third light with all of them being 6,800 lumen mercury vapor
lights. One should be at the beginning of the 1100 block of
West Miller Street across from Stockman Feed Exchange; another
at the corner of Hamlin and West Miller Across from the Free
Methodist Church; and the third light should be in the middle
of the block between 1118 and 1120 Miller street on an existing
pole.
8. Replace a 1,000 incandescent street light and :install a new
6,800 lumen mercury vapor light at the intersection of West
Circle Drive and Chicago Road.
9. Replace a 1,000 incnadescent street light at West Circle Drive;
and North Circle Drive with a new e,800 lumen mercury vapor
light. When the new light is installed please swing it toward
West Circle. Sincerely,

Resolution The following resolution was adopted on motion made by Mr. Debo;
Street RESOLUTION
Lights. Be it hereby resolved by the City Council, City of Jefferson,
Missouri, that the Missouri Power and Light Company make the i
following installations in accordance with recommendations presented
to the City Council by its Committee on Public utilities and adopted
by said City Council, on April 20, 1964;
r 1. Replace a 1,000 incaadescent street light at the intersection cif

request be granted. The motion passed. !?
