Volunteer Week
PROCLAMATION
We are Better Together
WHEREAS, National Volunteer Week has been observed annually since 1974 at all governmental
levels, and recognizes volunteerism, participation, sharing and working together to make a
difference; and
WHERES, Volunteering brings people together; it builds communities and creates a better society
for everyone; and
WHEREAS, the City of McCall depends on Volunteers for many programs that are a service and
benefit to the community; and
WHEREAS, there is a need for more voluntary community service to help continue these programs;
and
WHEREAS, National Volunteer Week is a chance for all of us to celebrate and recognize the vital
work of volunteers and to say thank you; and
WHEREAS, Together, through volunteering, we are changing communities for the better; and
WHEREAS, serving as a Volunteer is a rewarding experience.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Robert S Giles, Mayor, with the consent of the City Council of the City of
McCall, do hereby proclaim April 17 - 23, 2022 as
Volunteer Week
in the City of McCall to honor and recognize the individuals who have made a difference in our
community and do hereby urge the citizens of this community to recognize the same.
