AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY
EXTENDING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF ORDINANCE
NO. 63 -117 TO PERMIT FURTHER CONSIDERA-
TION OF ZONING TO BE APPLIED TO THE AREA
LYING BETWEEN CLOVERLY AVENUE ON THE WEST,
TEMPLE CITY BLVD. ON THE EAST, LAS TUNAS
BLVD. ON THE SOUTH, AND WOODRUFF AVENUE
ON THE NORTH
WHEREAS the City Council did heretofore on August 26, 1963,
adopt Ordinance No. 63 -110 as an emergency ordinance pursuant to
Government Code Section 65806, to permit the completion of its zoning
study of that certain area lying between Cloverly Ave. on the west,
Temple City Blvd. on the east, Las Tunas Dr. on the south and Woodruff
Ave. on the north, hereinafter sometimes referred to as the "Subject
Area," and
WHEREAS, the City Council did by its Ordinance No. 63 -117
extend the effective period of study for an additional 90 day period,
and
WHEREAS, during the period of study by the City Council
sufficient signatures have been obtained in respect to land within the
subject area becoming a parking district, and
WHEREAS, the previous time periods have proven too short to
accomplish the study and resolution of the zonir, in the subject area,
and particularly now that a portion thereof may be acquired for public
parking, and
!WHEREAS, the paramount interest of the people of Temple City
requires that full opportunity be given for completion of the zoning
studies and adoption of a master plan for the City of Temple City and
that the Parking District proceedings insofar as feasibility is con-
cerned be resolved by the requisite public hearings, now therefor
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council expressly finds that it is
necessary to hold public hearings in respect to establishment of
Parking District No. 2 and necessary to complete the master zone
studies, presently coming to a conclusion, in regard to the subject
property referenced above prior to releasing said subject property to
any prior zoning heretofore applied to the said subject property and
that the subject property shall be and is hereby zoned as shown on
the maps attached hereto, marked "Exhibit A" and made a part hereof as
though set forth in full, and said zoning shall be effective until the
adoption of a zoning map for the entire City of Temple City by the City
Council and the conclusion of all public hearings presently in the
process of being established in relation to Parking District No. 2,
but in no event for a period longer than 90 days from the effective
date of this ordinance unless facts and circumstances are such that the
City Council shall determine to continue its studies for an additional
period not longer than August 25, 1964.
SECTION 2. Pursuant to Section 65806 of the Government Code,
the City Council finds that it is necessary to protect the public safe.

measure and as such this Ordinance shall become effective immediately
upon its adoption.
