There being no further business Council adjourned subject to t•- call of the Mayor. 01 r of Counci], Mayor Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, Georgia. March 21, 1945. A special meeting of Council was held today to the office of Mayor Dutton, and was attended by the Mayor, who presided, and Councilmen Slotin, Walsh, Lovell, and Town Attorney Alexander. The meeting was called for the purpose of: 1. To accept. the contract of the J. G. Attaway Company as completed as of February 26, 1945. 2. To adopt a resolution accepting the final quantity change order on Project No. Ga. 9 -244 (NF) as submitted by the J. G. Attaway Construction Company. Councilman Slotin moved that the following resolution be adopted. Councilman Lovell seconded and the motion passed. RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the J. G. Attaway Construction Company was a- warded a oontraot to complete the sanitary sewerage system for the Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, Georgia; and WHEREAS, J. G. Attaway, owner, has notified the munici- pality that he has completed said work in accordance with said contract; and WHEREAS, it will be necessary for the municipality to ac- cept by resolution the final approval of said contract; and WHEREAS, the work of the J. G. Attaway Construction Com- pany was substantially completed on June 3, 1944, and finally completed on February 26, 1945; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Councilmen of the Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, in Council assembled, that the said municipality does. hereby accept the oontraot of the J. G. Atta- way Construction Company as completed as of February 26, 1945, and on the basis of the contractor's bond which covers the _project for a per- iod of twelve (12) months from and after February 26,E 1945. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of Council send four (4) certified copies of this resolution to the Federal Works Agency. Councilman Walsh moved that the following resolution be adopted. Councilman Slotin seconded and the motion passed. RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the J. G. Attaway Construction Company was awarded a contract to complete the sanitary sewerage system for the Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, Georgia; and WHEREAS, the said J. G. Attaway Construction Company has submitted to the municipality a final quantity change order for its approval; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council- men of the Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, in Council assem- bled, that the municipality does hereby accept the final quantity change order on Project No. Ga. 9 -244 (NF) and that the Clerk of Counoil be and he is hereby directed and authorized to oertify this resolution to the Federal Works Agency with the request that said Federal Works Agency approve same as submitted and approved by this resolution. The regular meeting of Council was held today at 4;00 P.M. in the Council Room, in the Town Hall and was attended by Mayor Dutton, who presided, and Councilmen Biotin, Lovell, Hosti, Walsh, Young, and Town Attorney Alexander. The minutes of the meetings of February gth and February 12th were read and adopted. Mayor Dutton stated that when in Atlanta, he was informed that the oost of reworking the sewerage system would be approved as planned, now the cost is estimated at *77,600.00, Mr. 0. T. Ray re- fused to approve it for this amount, the Mayor informed Mr. Ray that the Town could not spend any more money than as previously stated, Mr. Ray would not recommend.the grant for more than #45,000.00. It was decided that the matter should be appealed to Senators George and Russell and Congressman Petersen to get their assistance in an effort to get additional funds. It was decided that the Mayor and Councilman Biotin would go to Washington relative to this. Councilman Siotin requested that the land in the vicinity of the Berman, Mazo lots near 18th Street be leveled.
