A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE LEGISLATIVE DELE-
GATION OF PALM BEACH COUNTY TO DENY CERTAIN
REQUESTS BY THE PALM BEACH COUNTY BOARD OF PUB-
LIC INSTRUCTION CONCERNING MILLAGE LIMITATIONS
WHEREAS, the law requires the Board of Public Instruc-
tion of Palm Beach County to submit a referendum to the electorate
if it desires to increase the annual millage in excess of ten
mills; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Public Instruction of Palm Beach
County has requested the legislative delegation to eliminate this
restriction and grant the Board of Public Instruction increased
powers of taxation; and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the Commission of the Town
of Gulf Stream that such restriction is advisable and required;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE TOWN COMMISSION
OF THE TOWN OF GULF STREAM, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
1. The Town of Gulf Stream requests the legislative
delegation of Palm Beach County, Florida, to vote against any pro-
posed legislation which will eliminate the ten mill restriction on
the Board of Public Instruction of Palm Beach County without a
referendum.
2. A copy of this resolution shall be presented to the
legislative delegation at a legislative clinic held in Palm Beach
County.
