Present: Chairman Paul Wolff, Councilman Rob Callahan, Councilman Barry Brown, Councilman Bill Garbett Also Present: Diane Schleicher, George Reese, Joe Wilson, Angela Hudson, and Doug Roberts (Greenline) Meeting started at 5:30pm with Chairman Wolff calling the meeting to order. Minutes from April 23rd and May 14th will be approved at the next meeting. Old Business: North Beach Restrooms was discussed. Geotechnical Report from Whittaker Laboratory, Inc. is discussed. It claims the soil is loose and will need to be compacted. Change Order # 1: Chairman Wolff asks for a motion to approve. Councilman Callahan moves to increase the scope of work as shown in the change order and adjust the price by $22,500. Councilman Brown seconded the motion. Unanimous approval. City Hall Needs and Security Assessment Status was discussed. Change Order #1: Chairman Wolff asks for a motion to approve additional payment of $5,200 for research and preparations of alternates for FEMA compliance. Councilman Callahan moved and Councilman Brown seconded. Unanimous approval. Discussion of work to be done in finance department at City Hall and approving the building funds of $2,824 in the upcoming budget. Chairman Wolff asks for a motion to approve the work as proposed by Joe, Diane, and Angela. Councilman Callahan moves to approve. Councilman Brown seconded. Unanimously approved. Flag Pole costs with taller pole option at Welcome Sign Joe Wilson: Several different options were presented and discussed. Paul asks for a motion to recommend to Council that we get a 50’ pole ($3,074) with an 8’x12’ flag ($225.95 each). Councilman Brown made a motion. Councilman Callahan seconded. Unanimously approved. Joe Wilson gave an update on the DPW Trash Scale Project and DPW Yard Layout progress. GEFA Deep Well Project Update discussed. Noise Ordinance waiver requested. Update on Sewer Force Main from #7 Lift Station completed Update on Sludge Digester Update George says it is progressing and might be operational in 180 days. Hwy 80 Trails Project Update GDNR Permit Approved and good to five years GDOT funding schedule is 2018. Working with GDOT to get that schedule moved up to 2016 or 2017. GDOT wants $1,400 payment for TAP grant oversight. Diane is going to question this charge. Water Supply Planner – MPO proposal with shared costs Chairman Wolff met with everyone involved throughout the county this morning. City of Pooler has opted out. Due to them opting out, City of Tybee’s cost will change from $3,027 to approximately $3,483. Chairman Wolff asks for a motion to recommend to Council that we pay up to $3,500 for the Water Supply Planner. Councilman Callahan moved. Councilman Brown seconded. Unanimously approved. The meeting was adjourned at 6:17pm. A quorum of city council members may be present which would constitute a meeting.
