ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF CARTERET, IN THE COUNTY OF
MIDDLESEX, NEW JERSEY, APPROPRIATING $1,500,000 FOR
IMPROVEMENTS TO VETERAN'S PIER AT WATERFRONT PARK,
CONSISTING OF A GRANT FROM THE MIDDLESEX COUNTY OPEN
SPACE, RECREATION AND FARMLAND AND HISTORIC PRESERVATION
TRUST FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,500,000
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF
CARTE RET, IN THE COUNTY OF MIDDLESEX, NEW JERSEY, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Borough of Carteret, in the County of Middlesex, New Jersey
(the "Borough"), hereby appropriates the sum of $1,500,000 to provide for improvements
to Veteran's Pier at Waterfront Park, including the construction of a 3,000 square foot
Pier Pavilion, the installation of a permanent outdoor stage, the conversion of the current
bandstand to a food court/grille, the construction of restrooms and other site work and
restoration, including all work and materials necessary therefor and incidental thereto and
further including all related costs and expenditures incidental thereto. Such appropriation
consists of a grant from the Middlesex County Open Space, Recreation and Farmland and
Historic Preservation Trust Fund in the amount of $1,500,000.
Section 2. The Borough hereby certifies that it has adopted a capital budget or a
temporary capital budget, as applicable. The capital m temporary capital budget of the.
Borough is hereby amended to conform with the provisions of this ordinance to the extent
of any inconsistency herewith. To the extent that the purposes authorized herein are
inconsistent with the adopted capital or temporary capital budget, a revised capital or
temporary capital budget has been filed with the Division of Local Govermuent Services.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect as provided by the law.
