SUBJECT : PLANNING COMMISSION ACTIONS -MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 24,

RECOMMENDATION:
The City Counci l is requested to receive and file the Planning Commission
(C ommission) actions from their meetin g of September 24 , 2019 .
BACKGROUND :
On September 24, 2019 , th e Commiss ion held their regularly scheduled meeting .
ANALYSIS:
The follow ing is a summ ary of actions ta ken at the September 24 , 2019 , meeting :

Th e Commission approved the minutes from their regular meeting of September
10 , 2019 .

3. PUBLIC HEARINGS
A . PL 18-1159: 5409 BALDWIN AVENUE .
DESCRIPTION : A tentative parcel map and major site plan review for a flag
lot subdivision and for th e construction of a single-family residence on each
parcel.
ACTION : The Commission voted 4-0 to approve file PL 18-1159 and adopt
the resolution finding that th e project is exempt from CEQA, subject to the
recommended conditions of approval.
B. PL 17-1045: 6030 TEMPLE CITY BOULEVARD .
DESCRIPTION A request for the approval of a tentative tract map , a site
plan review , and a zone varian ce for the construction of five , attached
co ndominium dwelling units . The variance is requ ested for the permeable lot
co verage whi ch is required at 40 percent of th e lot area per th e zoning
standards
ACTION : Th e Commission voted 4-0 to ap prove fi le PL 17-1045 and adop t
the reso lution finding that the project is exempt from CEQA , subject to the
recommended conditions of approval.
C . PL 18-1198 : Citywide .
DESCRIPTION: Comprehe nsiv e Zoning Code Update
ACTION: Th e Commission made a motion to recommen d that the City
Cou ncil approve th e proposa l of Alternative D in the R-1 zone , to increase
th e maximum front-of-the -lot floor area ratio to .4 o n lots 80 feet in depth , or
less .

7 . UPDATE FROM TH E PLANNING MA NAGER
Interim Com munity Development Director Reime rs sa id that th ere has been a
problem with sending e-mai l. He asked the Planning Commission to meet with the
Youth Committee on October 8, 20 19 . He also announced that the Commun ity

Development Director approved a 73 unit, mixed-use project at 5570 Rosemead
Blvd , on September 17 , 2019.

The Commission meeti ng was adjourned at 8:45p.m.
CITY STRATEGIC GOALS :
Reviewing the Commission actions of September 24 , 2019 , furthers the City 's Strategic
Goals of Citizen Education and Communication .
FISCAL IMPACT:
This item does not have an impact on the Fiscal Year 2019-20 City Budget.
