AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 17.06 OF THE MOAB MUNICIPAL
ORDINANCES AMENDING LANGUAGE FOR A SITE -OBSCURING FENCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MOAB CITY COUNCIL AS FOLLOWS:
That Chapter 17.06 of the Moab Municipal Ordinances shall be amended to read as
follows:
17.06.020 Definitions.
20. "Fence, sight obscuring" means
any fence or wall that is designed
to limit visual access to a parcel, or portion of a parcel, in order to shield permitted, yet potential
unsightly conditions from public view. All plans for all sight -obscuring fences and walls shall
first be submitted and approved by the planning department and the zoning administrator. All
sight -obscuring fences and walls shall be constructed of substantial material and the design and
construction of said fence or wall shall be consistent with the quality of dwellings and other
improvements within the surrounding area as determined by the zoning administrator. No fence
shall be constructed which prohibits direct and convenient access to a fire hydrant or which
obstructs the proper and efficient operations of a hydrant.
This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon passage.
