AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR
T&M ASSOCIATES-
YEAR 2002 ROAD II~IPROVEklENT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is in need of specialized design
phase engineering services and field survey work in connection with the
Year 2002 Road Improvements Program, including improvements to
Hagaman Street, Terminal Avenue and other Local Road Improvements;
and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engineer, Donald .]. Norbut, P.E.,
C.M.E. of T&M Associates, possesses the requisite skill and expertise to
provide said services; and
WHEREAS, Donald ,1. Norbut, P.E., C.M.E. of T&lvl Associates has
submitted a proposal to provide said engineering services at a total cost
not to exceed $78,500.00 for field survey and engineering fees (excluding
construction phase services) for the various project elements as follows:
1. Hagaman Street - Field Survey and Design Fees through
bid phase not to exceed $33,000.00;
2. Terminal Avenue - Field Survey and Design Fees not to
exceed $25,000.00; and
3. Local road improvements - Design Fees not to exceed
$20,500.00 and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have reviewed said proposal;
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will
be available for said purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE I'T RESOLVED by the [vlayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New ,lersey, as follows:
1. The proposal from Donald .1. Norbut, P.E., C.M.E. of T&M
Associates for design phase engineering services and field
survey work related to the Year 2002 Road Improvements
Project at a total cost not to exceed $78,500.00 for the
various project elements as set forth herein above, at the
hourly rate set forth in T & M's existing contract with the
Borough is hereby approved.

2. Annexed hereto is a copy of said proposal.
3. This action is approved as an award of a professional
services contract.

and certified as a true copy of the
original on March 8, 2002.
