A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY
APPOINTING CYNTHIA STERNQUIST AS TEMPLE CITY'S
REPRESENTATIVE ON THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE SAN GABRIEL
VALLEY MOSQUITO AND VECTOR CONTROL DISTRICT FOR A TERM OF
OFFICE ENDING ON DECEMBER 31, 2024
WHEREAS, the San Gabriel Valley Mosquito & Vector Control District (District) promotes
cooperation and communication with property owners, residents, social and political groups, and
other governmental agencies to aid in the efforts of educating the public about mosquito -borne
diseases. The District is governed by a twenty-four member Board of Trustees with one Trustee
appointed by each contracting city and one by the County of Los Angeles; and
WHEREAS, City of Temple City is one of 24 member agencies that comprise the San
Gabriel Valley Mosquito & Vector Control District. The District provides mosquito and harmful
disease vector control services for its member agencies. As part of its membership in the District,
Temple City controls one seat on the District's Board of Trustees; and
WHEREAS, the City Council may appoint any qualified elector of the City of Temple City
as the City's representative on the Board of Trustees.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES HEREBY
RESOLVE:
SECTION 1. The City Council does hereby appoint Cynthia Sternquist as its
representative on the Board of Trustees for the District for a period ending December 31, 2024;
and
SECTION 2. Such appointment is made upon adoption of this Resolution by the City
Council taking such action.
