AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY
ADDING NEW SUBSECTION (c) TO SECTION
8504 OF THE TEMPLE CITY MUNICIPAL CODE
RELATING TO TRASH COLLECTION AREAS.
THE CITY ,COUNCIL .OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES ORDAIN :.
SECTION 1. A new Subsection (c) reading as follows is hereby
added. to Section 8504 of the Temple City Municipal Code:
(c) In the multiple residential and commercial
zones adequate trash and garbage collection and pick
up areas shall be provided for all apartments or
dwelling units and for all commercial and industrial
buildings in a location or locations accessible by
motor vehicle to a public street or alley. All out-
side trash areas shall be enclosed on at least three
sides - and on all sides visible from streets - by a
five -foot high block, masonry or similar wall.
i) Size and construction - Required area for
apartments or dwelling units shall be of
adequate size to permit storage and re-
moval for pick up of a standard 3 -yard
steel trash bin on wheeled casters. For
commercial and industrial buildings provide
for one or more standard 3 -yard trash bins.
ii) 3 -yard Bin Dimensions: length - 749°
width - 49"
rear height - 61"
front height - 52"
door - 58"
iii) Floors shall be of concrete pavement and the
requisite access to street or alley shall be
paved, with no curb or abrupt grade change.
Suitable bumpers . either for bin wheels or
rear wall shall be installed. Such trash
areas shall not obstruct vehicular access
or parking required by this Code.
SECTION 2. PENALTY. Any person, firm or corporation
violating this Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and
upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine of not
more than $500 or by imprisonment in the City or County Jail
for a period of not to exceed six months, or by both such
fine and imprisonment.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify and attest to the
adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be pub-
lished once in the Temple City Times, a semi - weekly newspaper,
published and circulated in the City of Temple City.
