Park!' so that all who pass may read the names and be reminded of the services ren- dered to our country by these, our sons and. dnughters. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the authority aforesaid that a copy of these resolutions be spreed upon the minutes of the Mayor and Councilmen of Savannah Beach. Councilman Slotin suggested thst the bronze memorial plaque should be installed by someone with experience. He wes informed that Max E. Kleinstuber did this type of work. Council- man Slotin moved that the Mayor be nuthorized to have the work done, Councilmen Peters seconded and the motion passed. There being no further business, Council adjourned subject to the call of the Mayor. Totyor. Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, Ga. Janucry 23rd, 1947. A special meeting of Council was held today at 12:00 noon, in the Council Room, and was attended by Mayor Dutton, who presided. and Councilmen Slotin, Farrell, Lovell and. Town Attorney Alexander. Mr. W. J. Lynch and Mr. H. S. Jackson were also present. The meeting was called for the purpose of receiVing: and awarding bids on the proposed Police Headquarters, Rest room a and First Aid Station. Councilman Slotin moved that the following resolution be adopted, Councilman Farrell seconded and themotion passed. A RESOLUTION WHEREAS, et a meeting of the Mayor and Councilmen of Savannah Beach, Tybee Islend, held on December 12th, 1946, a Committee composed of the Mayor, Councilman Morris Slotin and William S. Lovell, and the Town Attorney, was appointed for the Purpose of advertising for bids for the construction of a build- ing on the Strand at Sixteenth Street in the Town of Savanneh Beach to be used as p Police Headquarters, a First Aid Station and Rest Rooms; AND, WHEREAS, said Committee has advertised for seal- ed bids to be submitted to it not later than 12:00 o'clock Noon, 1 on January 23rd, 1947, for the erection of said building; AND WHEREAS, c special meeting of the Mayor and Council- men of the Town of Savannah Beach convened at the Town Hall at Savannah Beach on January 23rd, 1947, at 12100 Noon, and opened all bids which had been submitted., the bid of Jackson & Brittain being the lowest and best bid in the amount of Seven Thousand Two Hundred Forty Dollars ($7,2+0.00), excluding the furnishing of stalls for toilets in said Rest Rooms and locks on the seme, and said Mayor and Councilmen are of the opinion that said bid is reasonable; BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED by the Mayor and Councilmen of Savannah Reach, Tybee Island, in Council assembled, that said bid be, and the same is hereby, accepted with said reservation above mentioned; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of said Town be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute a contract with Jackson & Brittain for the construction of seid building in accordance with the plans and specifications prepared by William J. Lynch, Civil Engineer, and to accept a bond in the amount of sixty per cent (60%) of the amount of said bid, guaranteeing the performance of said contract. There being no further business, Council adjourned .subject to the call of the Mayor. Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, Gn. February 6th, 1911.7. The regular meeting of Town Council was held today at 4:00 P.M. in the Council Room and was attended by Mayor Dutton, who presided, and Councilmen Slotin, peters, Lovell, Young, Farrell, Hosti and Town Attorney Alexander. The minutes of the meeting of January 9th were reed and approved. 3- The Meybr stated that Wiedeman and Singleton had asked for more detail in connection with the rport made to them of the equipment in some of the pumping stations burning out.
