APPROVING PROFESSIONAl, SERVICES CONTRACT -
GENOVA BURNS & VERNOIA
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is in need of specialized legal services with
regard to various PERC arbitrations and ongoing labor matters; and
WHEREAS, the law firm of Genova Burns & Vernoia possess the requisite
experience and expertise to provide said specialized legal services; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be
available for said purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret that the law firm of Genova Burns & Vernoia is hereby
appointed special labor counsel at an hourly rate of $125.00 for a maximum cost
not to exceed $25,000.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this contract is awarded as a professional
service pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:l 1-2(6) and shall be advertised as required by
