HomeMy Public PortalAbout2022.03.09 GCAC MinutesGCAC Minutes March 9, 2022 5:00 PM Golf Course Club House Roll Call: Rita Neal-Bolli, Todd McKenna, Kris Christensen, Ken Stearns, Eric McCormick, Suzanne Gebhards, Allan Morrison, Eric Bouchard. Public Comment: no comments, no visitors. Approve Minutes for February 16, 2022, Meeting: motion moved and approved to accept minutes. Eric's Report: starting pay will be $16.00/hour. Will bump pay for others as well. May need to hire a mechanic. Part timers have been temporarily laid off. Need painting in upstairs bathroom still. Ladies' restroom - do we want to paint over the mural or keep it? Suzanne will communicate with the lady's group to get this answer. No 1 Aspen 1/2 crust ice and ground is thawing out underneath. No ice on 3 Birch green. Blew off the driving range deck in preparation for the golf team. Mats will be hauled out for use. Golf Shows: Boise - stay and play two rounds at Jug and McCall plus Hotel McCall stay; Spokane and Seattle get an additional 10% off daily green fee. Seattle show in downtown Seattle at convention center. Beautiful weather and low attendance at the show. PR: McCaII Magazine article, Northwest publications, advertising in McCall maps that are handed out, and rate card will fill public display racks for the summer. Ramp will probably not be completed before the course opens. Delayed due to Crestline Engineers - waiting on engineering. Have to get an estimate before proceeding with bids. Should be able to get rolling next week. Also waiting on plans for the new course bathroom. Pavers have been sent in to be engraved. Need to meet with Falvey to get a bid for bridge abutments on the fiberglass bridges. Cart paths - getting $15,000, waiting to see if we get another $25,000. Hoping to get a grinder to address the paths as well as edging. Lift station owned by the golf course (not the sewer department) still works, however some maintenance is needed, such as rusting and leakage. Water leaking in. Bathrooms and cart paths will be on the LOT funds request; Tee boxes will be funded with CIP, and still need to address the roof. AM city buildings, schools, etc. are on fiber cables so there are no internet fees for the golf course. Still in testing phase for some businesses so still utilizing cable. Allan's Report: Focused on Amateur Invitational, it is approximately 2/3 full. Hired two college kids and a retiree for summer staff. City needs a plan of how to buy out Allan's merchandise and golf carts, etc. when he retires. Men's club championship - Eric B. will communicate with the Men's club about changing the dates so there is not a conflict with the Idaho State Mid -Am. Monthly Topic: Election of Officers postponed until next meeting. Old Business: Proshop Golf operations Recommendation - we need to make an official recommendation to the city. Need a new Golf Pro by November 1. Rita will communicate with Annette Spickard about the process of deciding the management of the golf course. New Business: No new business.
