ORDINANCE NO. 65°10
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY CF TEMPLE CITY AMENDING THE ZONING
ORDINANCE OF THIS CITY AND ESTABLISHING
A MAXIMUM HEIGHT FOR SIGNS AND ADVERTISING
STRUCTURES, ADOPTING THE SAME AS AN INTERIM
ZONING ORDINANCE, PURSUANT TO SECTION 65806
OF THE GOVERNMENT CODE, AND DECLARING THAT
SUCH ORDINANCE SHALL BE IMMEDIATELY EFFECTIVE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES ORDAIN:
SECTION 1. The City Council finds and determines that the
provisions hereinafter set forth in Section 2 have been under-
taken in good faith for study by the Planning Commission as part
of a comprehensive study of sign regulations; that the Planning
Commission will be conducting Public Hearings with respect
thereto; and that it is appropriate to adopt a temporary Interim
Zoning Ordinance at this time.
SECTION 2. The following regulations are hereby adopted as
a temporary Interim Zoning Ordinance with regard to the height
limit of signs and advertising structures within the City:
C -C Zone
C -2 Zone
35 feet
35 feet
C -M Zone 35 feet
SECTION 3. During the term of this Ordinance, it shall be
unlawful for any person to violate any of the regulations set
forth in SECTION 2 above; and the Building Inspector is directed
to issue no permits in violation thereof.
SECTION 4. All portions of the Zoning Code inconsistent with
the provisions of SECTION 2 above are hereby suspended during the
term of this Ordinance.
SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall remain in effect until
December 31, 1965.
SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall become immediately effective
as an Urgency Ordinance, pursuant to Section 65806 of the Government
Code for the reasons set forth in the report of the City Planner.
SECTION 7. The City Clerk of the City of Temple City shall
certify to the passage and adoption of this Ordinance and to its
approval by the Mayor and shall cause the same to be published in
the Temple City Times, a semi - weekly newspaper, published and
circulated in the City of Temple City.
