CALL TO ORDER Mayor Man called the City Council Special Meeting to order at 6:42 p.m. in the Council Chambers located at 5938 Kauffman Avenue, Temple City. 2. ROLL CALL PRESENT: ABSENT: ALSO PRESENT: Councilmember— Sternquist, Vizcarra, Yu, Chavez, Man Councilmember — None City Manager Cook, City Attorney Murphy, City Clerk Kuo, and Administrative Services Director Paragas 3. PUBLIC COMMENT — None. 4. CLOSED SESSION A. Purpose: Potential Cases: Authority: Representatives: B. Purpose: Authority: Agency Representative: Employee Group: Potential Litigation One (1) Government Code Section 54956.9(d)(2) City Attorney Conference with Labor Negotiator Government Code Section 54957.6 City Attorney and City Manager Temple City Employee Association, Unrepresented General, Part -Time Employees City Council recessed to closed session at 6:43 p.m. City Council reconvened with all members present at 7:33 p.m. CLOSED SESSION STATEMENT City Attorney Murphy reported that the City Council met in Closed Session for Item A, "Potential Litigation", received a report and gave direction to staff and the City Attorney's office to attempt final negotiation to avoid litigation. If unsuccessful, the city prosecutor has authority to initiate a civil code enforcement '0 action to resolve the pending matter. The identity of the defendant and facts relating to this matter will be made available to the public if the defendant is served, after unsuccessful negotiation. City Council Minutes July 18, 2023 Page 2 of 2 City Council met in Closed Session on Item B "Conference with Labor Negotiator". There was no reportable action. 5.
