Absent Van Heiden. Motion by Nielsen second by Van Hauen to approve the minutes of the December regular meeting. All ayes, carried. Motion by Lindaman second by Nielsen to approve the Treasurer’s Report for December. All ayes, carried. Motion by Nielsen second by Van Hauen to approve the following bills for payment. Currently he is completing several grants and met with the fund raising committee and the Ostfriesen Heritage Society. Motion by Lindaman second by Buseman authorizing the Mayor’s signature on the Notice of Intent to Apply for a Vision Iowa CAT grant and to submit a formal grant application to the State of Iowa. All ayes, carried. Greg Riebkes, Wellsburg Library Board, presented the FY 2009 budget request for the Library. The Library budget request will be considered at the February meeting. Motion by Van Hauen second by Nielsen to approve the Fire Department FY 2009 equipment needs request. All ayes, carried. Leon Abels presented the City Public Works Report. Included in the report were 2007 water and sewer flows, equipment repair needs, and DNR quarterly sewer inspections. Loader inspection/repair is put on hold until the spring when it is not needed for snow removal. Motion by Lindaman second by Van Hauen to approve pay increase of $.80 per hour for Leon Abels, Merrill Lindaman and Wendy Lage. Ayes: Buseman, Lindaman, and Van Hauen. Nays: Nielsen. Motion carried.
