SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
OCTOBER 25, 2023
1. CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Man called the City Council Special Meeting to order at 7:02 a.m. in the City Hall Community
Room located at 9701 Las Tunas Drive, Temple City.
2. ROLL CALL
PRESENT: Councilmember — Sternquist, Chavez, Man
ABSENT: Councilmember — Vizcarra, Yu
ALSO PRESENT: City Manager Cook, Parking Control Officer Mayorga, Senior Community
Preservation Officer Tran, City Clerk Kuo
Captain Meza, Deputy Anchondo, Deputy Bui, Deputy Lam
Councilmember Sternquist made a motion to excuse Councilmember Yu and Councilmember
Vizcarra. Seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Chavez.

6. COMMUNICATIONS
A. QUALITY OF LIFE
Deputy Anchondo provided an overview of the sex offender registrants, paroles, and
probationers in the City for the month of September, 2023.
B. OPERATIONS
There were no operations to report.
C. CRIME TRENDS
Deputy Anchondo provided an overview of crime trends in neighboring cities affecting
Temple City for the month of September, 2023.
D. NOTABLE ARRESTS
Deputy Anchondo provided an overview of notable arrests made in the City for the month of
September, 2023.
E. CRIME STATISTICS
Deputy Anchondo provided an overview of the crime statistics for the month of September,
2023.

F. TRAFFIC ISSUES
Deputy Anchondo provided an overview of the traffic issues for the month of September,
2023.

Deputy Anchondo provided an overview of the traffic statistics for the month of September,
2023.
H. SPECIAL ASSIGNMENT TEAM ACTIVITIES
Deputy Anchondo provided an update on the special assignment team activities.
City Council recommended that the city host another catalytic converter etching event after
work hours.
I. PUBLIC OUTREACH / EVENTS
Deputy Anchondo reported on the public outreach conducted by the special assignment
team.
J. UPCOMING EVENTS FOR NOVEMBER 2023
Deputy Bui announced upcoming meetings and events that will be conducted in the City.
City Council directed staff to bring a discussion to Council with options/programs that would
help boost public safety in the community (i.e., Ring Rebate Program) and to promote safety
for the upcoming holiday season.
