AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TEMPLE CITY AMENDING THE ZONING
REGULATIONS OF SAID CITY BY IMPOSING A
HEIGHT LIMITATION UPON SIGN STRUCTURES
IN COMMERCIAL ZONES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Temple
City does hereby find, determine and declare, as follows:
(a) That an amendment was heretofore initiated
for the purpose of considering the necessity for a
height limitation upon signs and sign structures in
Zones C -C, C -2 and C -M, within the City; and
(b) That the Planning Commission has heretofore
conducted a duly noticed public hearing upon said
proposal and, by its Resolution No. has recommended
to the City Council that a height limitation of thirty -
five (35) feet be imposed upon signs and sign structures
in said zones; and
(c) That the City Council has heretofore
conducted a duly noticed public hearing upon said
matter, and based upon the evidence adduced at said
hearing, the staff reports, the Planning Commission's
files and recommendations, has determined thht the
public interest, convenience and necessity require
the imposition of a height limitation of thirty -five
(35) feet for signs and sign structures in said Zones
above described.
SECTION 2. That Subparagraph (37) of Article 8, Section
801 of the Temple City Municipal Code, as adopted by
Ordinance 63 -112, is hereby amended to read as follows:
10(37) Signs and sign structures, provided:
(a) That the same shall be limited to an
identification of the occupancy, or the commodity or
services sold or serviced upon the premises; and
(b) That no portion of such sign or sign
structure shall exceed an overall height of thirty -five
(35) feet, measured from the finished grade of the
premises upon which the same is located."
SECTION 3. That Subparagraph (36) of Section 901 of
the Temple City Municipal Code, as adopted by Ordinance
63 -112, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"(36) Signs and sign structures, provided:
(a) That the same shall be limited to an
identification of the occupancy, or the commodity or
services sold or serviced upon the premises; and
(b) That no portion of such sign or sign
structure shall exceed an overall height of thirty -five
(35) feet, measured from the finished grade of the
premises upon which the same is located."

SECTION 4. That Subparagraph (2), Article 10, of
Section 1001 of the Temple City Municipal Code, as adopted
by Ordinance 63 -112, is hereby amended to read as follows:
`°(2) Advertising Structures, Outdoor.
(a) Advertising structures, outdoor, provided that
no portion of the same shall exrleed an overall height
of thirty -five (35) feet, measured from the finished
grade of the premises upon which the same is located."
SECTION 5. That Ordinance No. 65 -169, is hereby
repealed and rescinded.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify and attest to
the adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to
be published once in the Temple City Times, a semi - weekly
newspaper, published and circulated in the City of Temple City.
