SUBJECT: RELEASE OF SURETY BONDS FOR TRACT NO. 065942 FOR ROAD
IMPROVEMENTS AND SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENTS AT 5063 —
5067 SERENO DRIVE
SUMMARY
The developer (Le., Kotai Sereno Garden,LLC) submitted Surety Bonds in the amounts of
$87,000 and $62,100 to ensure that road and sanitary sewer improvements, respectively,
were completed at Tract No. 065942. The City was notified by Los Angeles County
Department of Public Works, that the road and sanitary sewer improvements were
completed and inspected and found to be in compliance with the approved plans.
BACKGROUND
On March 30, 2009, Kotai Sereno Garden, LLC, 6360 N. Willard Avenue, San Gabriel, CA
91775 submitted a road improvement permit Surety Bond for $87,000 and a sanitary
sewer improvement permit Surety Bond for $62,100 for Tract No. 065942 to Suretec
Insurance Company, 3033 Fifth Avenue, Suite 300, San Diego, CA 92103. The Surety
Bonds were to insure that road and sanitary sewer improvements were completed by the
developer.
The City was notified by Los Angeles County Department of Public Works that the road
work and sanitary sewer work were completed in a satisfactory manner. Hence, the City
needs to release the Surety Bonds.
FISCAL IMPACT
No impact.
RECOMMENDATION
Authorize the release of the Surety Bonds in the amount of $87,000 and $62,100
($149,100 total) for Tract No. 065942.
